PC shuts down randomly while playing BeamnNG

So this has been ongoing since the summer update and it has only gotten worse with my pc randomly shutting down while playing beamng.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-core processor
GPU: Radeon RX 580 Series
RAM: 2x 8gb corsair vengeance
PSU: Corsair cx650

 

You have 16 GB of RAM, and a 650W PSU so I doubt that's the issue. Having said that, I'd monitor temperatures (CPU and GPU), power usage, and RAM usage. I'd bet you'll find that one of those belies an issue, and we can work from there.

 

Check the connectors inside your PC, keep an eye on the temps too

 

I had the same issue with the same prozessor my gpu just shut down i think you use also the boxed cooler. For me switching to another cooler fixed the issue i use an Be quiet pure rock

 

When i started it and checked the temps after it had shut off it was at ~79 degrees celsius is that too high? Probably it is if it shut off

 

Yeah, I'd leave a temp monitor up and just look from time to time so you can try to catch it just before it shuts off. 174.2°F (79°C) is a bit high, especially for a computer that was just off.

 

79°C at idle is too high. I had a friend with a 2700x who had the same issue and it turned out that the CPU cooler wasn't installed correctly. I would double check that your cooler is installed correctly and thermal paste is properly applied.

 

no no i mean it was after it had shut off bc of beamng

 

79 is high, but it isn't too high that it should make your PC shut off.
Download a temp monitor with overview so you can monitor your temp while playing (example: MSI afterburner)
See how your temps are just before the PC shuts off.

Also, check your shutdown log.

If it is overheating, then inspect and clean fans from dust.
If your PC is older, you may have to apply new thermal paste.

If the shutdown log does not specify a cause, it could also be your GPU dying. How old is it?

 

i changed out graphics card, cpu,motherboard etc in august of 2018 so it's not that old but i don't know if i have to buy new thermal paste if its that old/new

 

Eh.. It's not that bad, but it could be the issue still. Again, check your temp and shutdown log. IF it is temperature related, then thermal paste is a cheap fix.

 

If you don't have pets or kids around your pc (and if you are a careful person) then leave your case open on one side
My pc is 8 years old and never overheated.

 

With shutdown, do you mean that windows is shutting down or that the system shuts down hard as if you had cut power?

If the computer acts like you would have cut power, this indicates either

• Overheating - be sure to clean all the fans and the case for example using pressurized air. (Do not spin up the fans with pressurized air as the electric current generated could damage the hardware)
  
  
• Power supply unit being faulty. Even when rated way above demand, a lousy power supply can ruin your day.
