I think thats their idea if theyre taking this long. This is also only 2 people putting in a ton of work compared to a team. All for free.

Well... It'll climb hills, alright. It might be slow, but I suppose it will taking a slightly more... direct route than most hillclimb cars.

Also, I live in the US and use metric. Imperial units are almost useless IMO (except for Fahrenheit, which I can talk about later).

They are literally a result of when america became seperate to england and said "Well, we are now a different country, why don't we use different units?" And then didn't put any effort whatsoever into making a new unit system.

Exactly. I'm getting no recompensation for spending the 1600 or so hours I've put into it, so I'm pretty much doing it from good will. Having this in mind, I can obviously stop or cancel the mod anytime I want to & I won't care about the backlash or disappointed people but I'm keeping on developing even though there were times that I just wanted to quit it all. I've had calculated the 1600 hours times the minimum wage a 3D modeler gets which is about $14/h; I'll leave the maths to people that want to deepen their appreciation for me or any other modders. Obviously we're no Gods so don't treat us as such, but giving us time & moral/financial support instead of hating because we're taking so long to create a mod is definitely the way to get our mood & good will up, as compared to doing the opposite :)

    1600 x 14 = $22,400

Hello, it's nice that you're encouraging them, but asking for release dates is generally frowned upon, so please refrain from doing that in the future

Yeah... at the moment, time of release is basically "as soon as we can." I am making progress... but there is still a lot to do...

I'm not actually sure the suspension in the Vivace could even handle these things unless it is extraordinarily tough. (I have no idea how tough it is as I have only ever driven it once)

Tracks like this put extraordinary stress on the vehicles they are installed on as they only really like to travel in a straight line and take a massive amount of force to actually steer them (both front and rear) which on weaker vehicles can cause suspension components to shear off if your not careful.

At the moment, they are just an 8 lug addon, so if your vehicle can handle 8 Lug tires, it can probably handle these (maybe)

I can look into making them work on smaller vehicles down the road... maybe... but at the moment, the B1 is my priority... I was just making them easier to work with by attempting to make them universal, as if I can make them stable on the D Series, then they should end up being much more stable on the B1 as most of the in game cars are already tuned to perfection. So the D Series is kinda like how I am isolating track testing rather than testing them on the B1 and potentially having something that I did wrong on the B1 break them instead (so far that doesn't appear to be a worry... but still)

Might work or not, depends on what surface will be driven on...
That was also a reference to Grand Tour Madagaskar Special btw. Since Vivace is like Ford Focus

Alright, I can look into it then. They will need some more refinement first as they are WAY overweight right now. They are much lighter than they used to be, but I still have get it down a whole lot further. Right now each "Track" (so frame rubber and all) weighs in at a staggering 500kg. The real life ones (well... my best guess anyways) weigh something more like 225kg. So I definitely need to cut down the weight by a substantial margin which will do nothing but help this things performance and cut down on suspension forces dramatically.

There is also the issue of clearance while we are at it though... granted I think the rally suspension does sit pretty high, so it might be enough to work... but there is a reason that they make Tracks that look like this

Now before everyone gets themselves all in a tizy, I am not saying that smaller and lighter vehicles can't have tracks... quite the opposite.

The thing I am saying is that we only have one track system made... and it was made for the B1. Here are some on a Hummer.

Because Mattracks is actually really good at what they do, these tracks are all properly sized to fit on the scale vehicle they were designed for... so you kind of lose a sense of scale on these things. The ones you see here are a 175 Series. That little Honda above is on their Lite Foot or there XT Track series.

It is really hard to get a sense of scale here as I cant find a picture of the tracks side by side... Or even normal dimensions for that matter... but I found 2 that might help. Sprocket Diameter and Weight. The Drive Sprocket on the XT is 14 inches and it only weighs about 120lbs per assembly while the 175 comes in with a Drive Sprocket that is 22 inches in diameter and each assembly weighs in at over 490lbs!

So more than likely, to make these things truly universal, we would need to make different sizes/styles... which honestly wouldn't be very hard... just scaling a few things and modeling up some new center assembly's/changing a couple things in the JBeams... but at the moment I am just going to focus on the B1... granted, perhaps if it is decided to that that, we could release a Track set along side the B1 almost as like a mini mod... that way you don't "have" to get the B1 to get the tracks if you don't want to (but why would you not ;))
