They gettin better... They are down to a correct weight and have some pretty good stability now... I also fixed the traction issues I was having, so now they provide quite good traction in fluids unlike before where they had almost nothing. I also managed to get an "at wheel" gear reduction working as well, so now the tracks have a realistic reduction simulation (simulating the smaller drive cog) as well. I also fine tuned the rotation limiter so that it doesn't hit the bodywork of the vehicles nearly as often, and fine tuned the built in suspension some more to allow it to glide over rocks more often then get stuck on them. (even tires still have this issue, so I am not supper fussed about it) More to come
Well, the Pigeon weighs roughly 500kg to begin with. I think it's safe to say that the tracks will significantly lower the center of mass of the thing. Maybe we won't have as much of a tipping problem. Now that I think of it, tracks and a low CoM would give a hell of a lot of grip... if we put a huge engine in it, could we make a DRAG PIGEON WITH TRACKS?
