Wow that'd be really good actually. Imagine traffic ai police chases but you can get out of the car and they still chase you while ur running.
You could have proper GTA chases, where if you crash your car, you can continue on foot and steal an AI car to keep the chase going.
We just gotta hope n pray that they've made it possible... I also wonder if it can swim. Would be good for crashing in water.
It’d be cool if we had a tool or two. Such as throw objects like the grabber thing already in the game. Maybe shoot little cannon balls or something
There's no tris blocking the way in so I don't see why not, unless the player is too wide to fit through
Definetly hope this is a thing. I know it's rather useless without official multiplayer (unless there's some weird scenarios/career mode missions that make use of this for some reason), but sitting in passenger/rear seats would definetly be nice.
Will jumping be a feature? I don't see how you would be able to get in the bus with how the current jbeam is

Probably just developers excited to show off their creation more than anything else. As for the walking feature, would we see the ability to perhaps have “tools”; For example: a flashlight, something like a hammer, which could serve to dent cars and break glass, or maybe a rope to serve as way of connecting vehicles (like how the planks in Teardown work, a simple click and drag with a physical object put in place, perhaps simply a retool of the node grabber system, with a key bound to connect to the node the camera is looking at?(rather than having to hover the mouse curser over the screen)) Even further out of left field- a visible body? Mainly so when you look down you can see legs, and when you push something (or use a tool) you see your hands? (Could be useful within the existing multiplayer mods, allowing people to communicate on foot as well.) Of course those are all wild hypotheticals.
I think that visible body idea would be really cool, but definitely not a possibility. The developers probably have more important things to focus on than adding an animated body that will probably never be seen 99% of the time. But further down the road, who knows? The player's character (possibly even customizable) may come out with career mode, and if that happened it would also be used in freeplay.
Oh I absolutely do not see it happening. Though to a degree I can’t imagine it would be too hard to implement- I imagine it would work a bit like rigging a model for animation, using nodes and beams instead for the reference points. Modeling it on the other hand is a different story; finding a design that fits the beamng style would be pretty challenging, I think, and I can’t imagine transitioning from modeling industrial to organic objects would be any small task.
One of the devs is a character artist. Although I don't think they will add a character that you can see because that would be complicated.
This would be awesome! An idea I had right off the bat with it was using something like you said to allow possible towing and recovery. It would be pretty cool if you could hook a car up to a wrecker using a winch in walking mode, then pull it up, clear the scene, and drop it off. It probably sounds weird, but never bad to though an idea out there!
Career Traffic? Walking? Story mode is almost done. A rocky start might be a prequel and i expect a NFS inspired gameplay with walking options
Anyone else find it a bit odd that it says "Walk Up" and "Walk Down" and not "Walk Forwards" and "Walk Backwards?" Or is this player-camera-robot-BB8-thing secretly Spider-Man?
