Re: General discussion chat And this is why manuals win, just bump start it. Sometimes you can jab a long screwdriver through a hole in the plastic against the battery terminal and jump it that way. Otherwise, I hate the god damn plastic in engine bays now.
Re: General discussion chat Got a month's worth of the VPN, and fixed up my profile. Today is a good day.
Re: General discussion chat That sucks, some auto manufacturers who bury the battery deep in the engine compartment have a wire that goes from the + and - terminals of the battery to an easily locateable spot like near the top of the strut. This makes is easy to jump start, even if the battery is buried you just need to access the wire that connects to the terminal.
Re: General discussion chat Whoever designed the buried battery should be taken around the back, beaten with a chain, and shot in the face.
Re: General discussion chat It was easy to remove it. they designed it special to be easily removed. Just press a tab and pull it out. Battery was very easy to get to after that. I just don't like how they cover the battery with plastic. It's so useless.
Re: General discussion chat It's better than Audi sticking the alternator under the engine, just above a subframe in my A4. If the alternator dies, I have a choice between removing the whole suspension assembly, or the front of the car up to the engine itself. The V6es don't even have enough lengthwise clearance to slip your hand between the radiator mount and block.
Re: General discussion chat Found an really nice condition working engine for my car for sale for £350, it would cost me £800 to repair my current one! Think I'm going to have an engine swap on my hands..
Re: General discussion chat Anyway, I'm surprised by how cool my CPU runs. My AIO had scratches on the CPU plate so I did use some 600 grit sandpaper to get those out plus I am using MX2 instead of the stock paste. Even so, I didn't expect it to run 10 degrees cooler than my A8 even when overclocked.
Re: General discussion chat Right now it's at 28c and under P95 it's at 50c which is how hot my A8 got under normal gaming load. At first I didn't think that the temperatures were legit but I confirmed the idle temperatures in HWMonitor with the temps in BIOS and in Overdrive. Right now it's running 4.2GHz at 1.375v. - - - Updated - - - Wait, nevermind. It seems that my CPU has overheated slightly.
Re: General discussion chat Soon mine (imported from here) My current case is a cheap-rusty-pos that is going into bazilion of pieces. It had a little plastic thing that covered the Optical Drives. The hinges broke after 2 weeks.
Re: General discussion chat Well goes to show how bad trucks blindspots are (Yes I know ETS 2 isn't realistic but who cares)
Re: General discussion chat I also found out today that I'm no longer banned from the EU server in ETS2 MP mod. (I overtook someone safely, they rammed me, I rammed them back, got banned, etc.)
Re: General discussion chat actually, ets2 is generally pretty close (other then map size of course, as well as speeds higher then 55mph)
Re: General discussion chat Before I got my pretty NZXT Phantom (http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/34-phantom) I had an old Thermaltake Xaser V. It was pretty much disintegrating by the time I got my current case. It did have a lock which was pretty cool though.
Re: General discussion chat I originally was going for the NZXT Phantom 410 until this beauty released. This case is just absolutely wonderful.
Re: General discussion chat I feel like taking my old PC out of the basement just to overclock it again. It's a 3.2GHz HT P4 and a Geforce 7600GS. Last time I ran it over 1.8v D) and the blower fan barely kept it under 180f which is when it shuts off. I barely got to 4GHz though. I actually really like that heatsink that I have in that PC. It's a copper block with a bunch of copper fins and a blower on top. It keeps it really cool and what's surprising is that it came out of a cheapo Compaq desktop. (The kind they had in schools. I got one for my birthday.) But at high speeds it's basically a jet engine. You can hear it in other rooms.
