Can i expect a clarification about game/engine visual limitations.
Currently we have a standard set of settings for a 2003 game. With (lightly said) bad light rays that look like 32x32 texture extended for ray's length, unprecise SSAO and weak SMAA that just doesn't do it's job on native resolution. Poor LoD system where shadows just draw before you. May i ask, are you limiting the settings of these or they are at their peak performance?
    - I mean i can't set 4096 shadows or even higher with my gpu being able to handle it
    - having grass/vegetation to pop up in 10 meters before me
    - still having 0,0,0,0 black points with absurd shadow brightness (screenshot). Look at forza/driveclub there's no almost no pure black points.

i can understand that people have performance issues due to maybe reflections but average GPU power is rising everyday, can we expect graphical enhancement or at least remove the settings boundaries for draw distance, shadow resolution and a better configurable lighting system.
Yes this is not AAA game, but this is not 2005 year either, adding a 20'th car will not bring as much money as graphical overhaul, skyrim is still alive due to graphical modding lol. In my humble opinion, the popularity is dragged back by visuals by a lot, i maybe wrong. Thanks.

FINALLY SOMEBODY GETS ITS. On maximum settings this game actually looks pretty good. I think specifically what’s holding it back is vegitation and grounds (dirt, grass, etc). Trees and bushes look reeealllyyy bad, and the texture they use for the ground are horrible. Stuff that’s man made looks great though, west cost USA looks amazing on max and the car textures are out of this world on the vivace and bend over.

The graphics engine they use is extremely old, I think it’s at peak preformance tbh. I should be able to crank them higher, I have one of the fastest rigs on the planet. Yet shadows still spawn 10 feet in front and trees look horrible lol.

No it doesn't by today's standards, it can, but it needs either prebaked map lighting, or huge lighting system overhaul. Everyone was talking about PBR texture system but i don't remember the outcome

I mean no it doesn’t by today’s standards with FH4 and cyberpunk being a thing, but I still thing in certain situations it doesn’t look bad. To be honest though, this game focuses on the physics more on the graphics.

"this game focuses on the physics more on the graphics" i expect a developer to say me this and shifting the point of all graphical complaints like these, i love this game (for years) but having this part of the game just being abandoned is killing a fan in me. I love just to cruise around, don't even smash stuff at all

This game runs on a 2006 game engine, what would you expect from that graphics-wise? BeamNG has pretty good graphics too considering it's like 8 years old

I noticed fxaa makes vegetation look really blurry whereas smaa makes vegetation look a lot more sharp and detailed. Also increasing the lod distance makes the vegetation look a lot better.

The problem with their vegitation is that it doesn’t react to shadows or reflections at all

2d sprites like grass doesn't cast shadows but trees and bushes cast shadows.

To be honest, there’s not one video game that has good looking vegitation yet. Prove me wrong.

I think that the low-resolution textures are the problem.

I think the game has pretty good graphics to its genre. IRacing has more worse graphics but no one complains that (don't know really :)). There no time to get the observation pleasure at the speed. Only really bad thing is appearing shadows in front.

I don't want to get 5 fps and looking to tree's leaves instead of driving.
