https://www.beamng.com/threads/ford-mustang-s550-2015-present.54863/ and for this mod you can probably make your own hoonigan skin(with paint net for example, you have tutorial about making skins here
or a canadian who made a hobby project too detailed because forza lacked the attention to detail of the frame. ive remodeled the thing like 4 times in the past 3 years ive worked on it because i want it to be perfectly the same as the real hoonicorn V2 (im even planning the V1 but i dont mention this since i havent even finished the V2 yet) This thing is the furthest thing from a meshslap ever. the body itself IS altho taken from forza, but im no graphic artist nor engineer, it was to save time. as if it mattered. but the rest of the chassis and suspension ive modeled entirely myself. the reason why this mod probably wont see the light of day is because of the unrealistic expectation ive got for my own mods. i dont wanna release a shaky piece of garbage. i really want to make this the highest possible quality mod for everyone to really enjoy what kind of absolute MONSTER this 1400HP hoonicorn is. a lot of mods are poorly made. but this one is a work of passion. but as ive said, im no engineer, so tuning this thing to perfection is most likely never gonna happen without some sort of help. i cant achieve dev quality jbeam by myself, especially in deep suspension geometry and tuning. im curious to know tho. while being on the subject. i love seeing dev quality mods but truth is, what does the community care about the mods they play with? does this mod NEED to be 100% accurate for me to release it? or can i just lower my standards and release it as a mess?
I wasn't referencing the model, I was referencing the Jbeam. The model is quite good, but from the video, the Jbeam definitely is not. The first thing I need to mention is the imediate crashing sound effect, which I'm pretty sure happens when a beam breaks upon spawning. All the body panels are violently vibrating, which I believe is a telltale sign of a bad beam structure, which will definitely need a lot of work. The car just turned into a triangle and the body panels flew off at all kinds of weird angles when it hit the wall at about 1:12 in the video, and what was left of the car started shaking even more. In the crash at 1:29 in the video, the car seems to have grabbed the pole for a split second, making the A pillar deform very weirdly and spinning the car around. At 2:03, the car started hopping into the air, like the suspension didn't want to be part of the car anymore, same with at 2:19. The car also seemed like jello at 2:29 and 2:54. You said that you can't create a good beam structure or suspension setup by yourself, but if you want to ever release this mod, you need to work on exactly that. Fix the hopping suspension, make the beams stronger, make the body panels stop wobbling and vibrating, and you will probably have a decent mod. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the textures on the model look a little strange, like there isn't any AA. But, the main thing I'm concerned about is the wobbling body panels, because that issue is very noticeable and very unrealistic. Fixing this may also fix the other Jbeam-related issues that I mentioned. In reply to the last sentence, I (and probably most other players) really don't care about the quality of a mod, as long as it's playable without any major noticeable issues in exterior, Jbeam, or internals.
have you ever noticed its a video from 2019? a LOT has changed since then. jbeam has both a pushrod suspension that accurately works as it should. im currently slowly working on redoing the entire chassis jbeam from scratch as well. When that video was posted it was based on the barstow jbeam, but heavily edited. i couldnt match the accurate vehicle weight so im redoing it. this is just a hobby i started and i gave myself too much of a big expectation because of the love ive got for the hoonicorn. this game inspired me to start modelling but ive got zero texturing skills. If people wants this mod to be perfectly looking, some help from some talented user who can texture would be appreciated. as of right now i manage what im doing with beamng textures and whatever garbage forza has like textures. im no graphics artist, i can just model and jbeam. and im no engineer, suspension tuning would require someone who knows a lot about what they are doing for it to stop the wobble. i havent given up on trying to fix it but im clueless as to what even to do at some point. this is real physics and its still very complex. im just someone who graduated from 12th grade just like the majority of us, i dont have any special education like i should have to be making this kind of stuff. (altho ill just add here i also graduated from college with a degree in technical industrial design aka cad, this game started my inspiration of 3d modelling) but hey, even in the condition it is, i can still do some nice drifts. thanks for the feedback tho.
you are welcome i really happy to see your message i think you can release mod before make perfect like version 0.1 0.3 0.6 and thanks for great working
