Yeah got a new 15lb cap last month, yeah i hadn't burped it because im lazy, but gee that must have been the biggest bubble i've encountered yet! There was a small amount of corrosion on the housing (the hole for the heater was entirely blocked) in the part the hose sits around and its very bumpy and uneven but then it would constantly leak wouldn't it ? Because it stopped when i put the clamp in a lesser corroded position (a cheap fix in a ways, but definitely not a long term solution;)) but then it started again while it was overheating, if it were a bubble there wouldn't any coolant coming out, strange. But anyways you say replacing the housing it self is easy, if i'm going by how enormously difficult it was just to replace the thermostat, it would be a week long war against the tirade of problems :D

Something that always makes me roll me eyes is when someone says "i got rear ended at a stop and the person was driving 75mph!!!".
To me it seems to be the most common type of accident for the victim to greatly exaggerate the speeds involved. Probably because its almost impossible for the average person to look in their rear view mirror and accurately judge the speed of a car closing in on them from behind. That is if the victim even happens to notice the car before the impact, they often don't.
Most people are completely incompetent at judging a vehicle's speed in any situation, yet they are eager to declare their judgement as fact.

Yeah... I can confirm, having been rear-ended, what is only 25-35 feels like alot more when you're hit from behind going 0.
(You may be able to guess how fast the '98 Accord hit the rear of my '12 Abarth from how I wrote that - I woulda guessed at least 50 :D )

Yeah I think you have a good point. Rear-end crashes are usually especially startling which will lead someone to overestimate the severity of the impact.

It was verified the kid who rear ended my Jeep with his mommies fancy Genesis was going 45. Conveniently the speedometer froze in position.

Thank my stars it has a tow bar. Reading into it rather recently the ZJ Grand Cherokee had a nasty habit of catching fire in rear end collisions. something something Ford Pinto something something their solution was not to redesign the surrounding material of the gas tank in the ZJ, they chose to just add a tow bar as standard equipment. #Chrysler

What did your jeep look like after? If your tow bar was able to absorb the impact im still skeptical of 45mph. A speedo can lag. I'm glad you are ok though.

I'm becoming increasingly desperate for a powerful RWD car to drive the shit out of.

Wikipedia tells me the LS only has about ~250 hp, looks like I'm a certified smoothbrain;)

There is a person in, I think, Illinois who runs an LS in spectator drags. I'm not exactly sure he's a frontrunner, but I'm sure he's having fun.

Out of 3.9L? 250 is pretty stout, tbh.

EDIT: Later cars produced 280. That's properly stout.

You can definitely drive the hell out of a Lincoln LS, I would if I found the right price on one.
I'm the fool anyway, I just bought another Crown vic. With purported transmission issues.

Thing to note: My Grand Cherokee, while having 300lb-ft of torque, a towing package, and an automatic, still fucking sucks at towing shit. The damn thing was puking its guts out on the highway towing a small trailer with a light go-kart.

And it overheated while doing it.

All V8's (either 5.2 or 5.9) are 3.73. Straight 6 trucks are 3.55. So it's got a good towing gear in it.

New whip. Had the car towed off the auction lot. Its drivable but the trans is going out. I'm working on removing the decals and police equipment.

Yeah, it overheated again today, this time conveniently in the middle of nowhere. Locked up solid for an hour before I could coax some life back in it.

I have someone coming to look at it tomorrow. Wants to turn it into a rock crawler. $1,500. I'll take it.
