Hello beamng community, i'm still a bit of newbie to modding but i'm trying to figure out why my vehicle configuration is being named incorrectly and no description is being shown. I guess I should mention that this is still a WIP mod. I have looked over the tutorial page a couple times and cannot figure out where I am going wrong. The .json file is named info_Goro_Drift with the .pc file being named Goro_Drift. I created the .pc file using the in game save config tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Are you sure It's the only file that do you have? Because it's impossible! The .pc file name is Goro_Drift, so the config name in the game should be "Goro_Drift" without json file or actually "Goro Drift" because you writed it in the json file. But... the config name is "goro/Goro_Drift"! So, I think there's another .pc file in your computer.
Just tried this and it still has the filepath in the name. I even selected deep clean just to make sure
I do have 2 other .pc files sitting in ...\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.22\vehicles\coupe but they have different names. BeginnerDrift.pc and HigherDrift.pc. The beginner drift shares similar parts but has a different skin set to it --- Post updated --- So it might not be me being a total dummy then? The console isn't showing an errors when I spawn the car or go through the menu --- Post updated --- Does it show up as normal in your own game? --- Post updated --- Ok, so I did some expanding of your idea here and if you rename the .pc to something else the name in game changes. Instead of Goro_Drift (giving you goro/Goro_Drift), I changed the .pc to Goro_Car and the json to info_Goro_Car the name in game will become goro/Goro_Car --- Post updated --- I FIXED IT!!!! You need to move the vehicle configuration files back one folder. I guess they need to sit in the vehicle name folder (coupe in this instance) folder and not in the actual mode name folder (goro in this instance) folder
I had this problem when making my drag pigeon. It seemed after I edited the file then opened it in beamng, then edited it again and loaded it back into beamng again, this error would occur. I got around it by naming my pc and info files what I wanted it to be called in-game and lived with not having a description.
Found it! Found it! It's a bug of the game! I moved one of my .pc files with its json file from vehicles/etki to vehicles/etki/high_speed and do you know what happened? It broke my config and my config showed as high_speed/super_high_speed_engine so for fixing it, we should convert the info file name to info_high_speed/super_high_speed_engine but you know, you can't write "/" in a file name. So it's another bug of the 0.22 And for fixing your problem, move the .pc and .json and .jpg file from vehicles/coupe/goro to vehicles/coupe --- Post updated --- Oops! Didn't reload the page before replying!
