I wonder if/when BeamNG will get post processing stuff like motion blur/radial blur for photo mode
It's a small hope of mine that it comes with all the PBR stuff

What do you mean? PBR is even simpler than traditional material systems. Games like War Thunder implemented PBR years ago and there was no performance hit, I could run that on my old gaming laptop with a 1050 with 0 issues.

but war thunder is a masterpiece of optimization, I don't know if beamng devs will manage to reach gaijin's level

Right now the game does a render pass for each layer, as long as PBR doesn't add more layers we won't see a performance hit.

Those truck wheels are the best thing for a long time, not only possible PBR, they look hella good with those sligtly worn textures too

"Physically Based Rendering", and as you can see makes the game look 200% better at least

While there isn't much, there are files in the game pertaining to an updated garage mode. Given it's removal for improvements, I would not be surprised if it shows up this update or next (possibly alongside updated UI?).

What is vulkan? Someone said that torquer cant run on linux so vulkan might be coming. But what does that mean? Is it another engine ?

It's a low level rendering API similar to dx12, which basically means that the engine talks to the processor more directly, which increases performance.

Vulkan is the successor to OpenGL, and it's a graphic engine.

Kinda doubt we're getting PBR in this update... They still gotta update the levels and every other material. Considering those tires were all they showed and they still looked a little WIP.

again, given their track record for maintaining mod backwards compatibility, they will likely still have room for specular/gloss materials, this is pretty common for game rendering.
and even if they didn't, the texture baker has existed for quite a while now, so there's a fair chance that they've probably already gone through and made new textures for most things, or re-balanced the existing ones to at least work with the new system.

I mean considering a few dae files reference texture names with extentions such as:
    Albedo
    Roughness
    AO
    Metallic
Which are usually only used in a pbr workflow, plus they already use tools designed for pbr (substance painter/designer) it wouldnt be surprising if they already did have a fair few (if not almost all) textures ready for pbr. But I would be surprised if the levels were pbr next update already, likely vehicle only for now. Plus yes as stated above me, you can usually run both in a render pipeline, spec gloss will just look worse. (especially since beamng is barely spec gloss >.>)

PBR comes out in the next update, beautiful and optimized
Gets removed 2 days later because broken meshlaps cause uproar among kiddies and youtubers; will be added back "once mod compatibility issues are resolved"
Never seen or heard about again

honestly the best part about pbr will be all the broken meshlaps
