Hello Fellow readers, I would like to come on here and create this thread. I think that it would be a good idea to implement Vehicle Mechanical Problems into the game for better realism and fun for the players. Here are my ideas. In BeamNG.drive something nice would be to go from Drive to Reverse while driving and it messes up your transmission causing a amount of problems probable to occur. For example you're driving and then on keyboard or stick or whatever you go to the R gear would be that the car wont go above a certain speed now. The transmission is very unreliable like it would not be going into Drive or Reverse. Then over the time the car goes into limp mode. Then to cause further damage you turn off the limp mode making the transmission smoke. Yet if it is still alive you drive some miles and then the transmission completely just dies. Electrical problems is my next idea. When driving into water causing water to flood the vehicle weird problems should occur. For say the headlamps turn on and off. The left side headlight just turns on once and then both of the headlights blink. Hazards start flashing slowly. Random lights come on the dashboard. The battery light blinks. The check engine light flickers. The horn starts going off and on. If BeamNG drive ever has a window feature the windows can start going up and down. Temp gauge can go crazy. The engine can turn on and off by its self. If it is something with the digital dashboard and screens. They can go haywire. Like on the Vivace the digital screen map starts going into random locations messing up the map and the point where the car is. It can start scrolling by its self. The gauges cluster with screens can also go haywire like rainbow lines go across it. It starts putting up weird messages and then it just completely shuts off the screens. Moving onto the Soliad wendover the LEDs can have weird effects too them like some turn on and some don't. It can put you the wrong speed for say if the car is stopped it can say you are going 80mph. Onto Police vehicles, The sirens can go off certain lights are only turning on and doing weird things it is all just a complete mess of lights. The sirens just keep going off and whining down.

    Thank you for reading :)

Ik, It should be for every car. It sure wouldn't be an easy job. But I think that it would be something big that there is now a game which offers realistic mechanical problems.

If I remember correctly, @Diamondback said a long time ago that implementing such a feature would mean they would have to rewrite the whole electric/electonics system, which would entail a rewrite of the fuel system which would entail yet another thing... So while it could be possible to do, it's not urgent

I agree. A lot of other major things need to be added into the game. But it should be perhaps a thought

It could also break half of all mods and again tons of kids would scream that this is the worst update ever because it broke their favorite meshslaps

Everything you mentioned is OK with one exception.
No limp mode. It violates owner's right.

How though? It is just a feature which is used to not destroy the transmission

Make it more realistic, but yeah I like this idea.

I agreed that on some vehicle, it's just a feature which is used to not destroy the transmission, which improves overall reliability. On many vehicles IRL, not so much.
I heard of some vehicles are limited to 80km/h just because the handbrake is snapped, foot brake, ABS and power steering are all good.
    Also this
When the Passat's TCS disabled by unplugging a wheel sensor, the vehicles simply retaliated. This "feature" worsens overall reliability.

@default0.0player haha you dug up that old post. Still makes me shake my head when I think about that car.
If my BeamNG car goes into limp mode I'm probably hitting reset immediately.
