I just finished ~350 deliveries and travel 1500 kilometres so I decided to leave my thoughts about delivery scenario, AI and a little bit about Italy map.

    1. Garage to Garage Delivery
I like it. Like I said before, I hope it will get it own section like Bus, Time Trails etc. with more customization. I personally would like to set time of day to change linearly rather randomly like it is now, or be able to set specific time. I like GPS, but I'm not a big fan of that "on road" GPS path, so option to disable it would be nice. It could be interesting also to be able change minimal distance of delivery. Right now it looks like it pure random but it doesn't work very well in my opinion. Very often I get same or very similar locations or very short deliveries (shortest was around 700 meters). There are few locations that I visit only 1-3 times and who knows if there are locations that exist but I never had a chance to visit due to that randomness. I can tell same about cars. For example I only delivered ~5 times a Burnside! I wont even mention variants... and how many times I get Carabinieri Piccolina.

Finally I would love to see some "special" deliveries types. For example:
    - delivery on time
I believe it would be hard to make these, because there are a lot of cars so it would be difficult to create a system that would guess how long it would take. Manually setting a time limit is not an a option so I won't even suggest that.
    - no damage delivery
    - chain delivery
We would get a car, deliver it, then another delivery will be same car but in different variant.
Example: Pessima DX -> GTz -> Track
    - deliver a car using top-down camera
Yes, this sound a little bit crazy, but it is FUN. Trust me. If you get a delivery in slow car (Burnside, base Bluebuck or Pessima) try this out. It is a little bit tricky but I never had that much fun.
    - deliver somewhere
I had once a delivery where final destination was "somewhere in Italy" and I didn't have GPS path. I had to drive by my own to the destination. I don't know if it was intended, or it was a bug, or it bugged after that, because this happen only once. Anyway, it was more entertaining than driving on set path over and over again.

Now I have a question. There are 3 cars that are not in this scenario (I don't count T-series and bus). D-series and Van is my guess - there are variants that are too big to fit in checkpoint. But what about Hopper? I don't believe that crawler is too big.

    2. The mighty AI
First of all, I don't know what are final plans for AI, so I will just mention what bothers me right now.
    - ignoring traffic, few examples: when it want to change the line, I seen quite a lot how AI will cut off another AI, on crossroads the AI will stop on stop sign but it won't let another car to pass, it looks like stop sign is just a timer right now
    - AI is driving on left line A LOT, yes, I'm European and it bothers me, of course I know how it looks like in US so I only mention it because of Italy map
    - it looks like they know how to stop on stop sign but don't know what give way sign is, I even witnessed when two cars crash
    - there are improvements but there are still moments when AI will slam brakes on straight roads and slow down from e.g. 60 to 30km/h for no reason, or will take corners slower than a cyclists do IRL

    3. Italy
Just few final words. GtG Delivery is a perfect tool to see how many roads are kinda... useless? I know, it good to have more roads on map. However what bothers me that there are a lot of well paved asphalt roads that are usually longer than alternative road that also is well paved, shorter and usually wider. My idea - change some of these roads to more rough or even into dirt roads.

So that's it. I'd like to see what thoughts have others.

No discussion? Huh, looks like it's true that only topics that get attention are "I want this or that car"...

OK, so I admit I completely missed this in the release notes and hadn't noticed it, so I didn't know what this thread was about at first. For anyone else like me this is what it is:
    • Garage to Garage Scenario: A procedural vehicle-delivery scenario, where you only have one attempt per vehicle
I'm going to try it after work, but off the bat I reckon this scenario is more significant than most - as it's probably a start towards what will end up being career mode, with randomly generated missions to earn money, with things like pizza delivery, taxi, car delivery, courier work, even car theft etc.

Hopefully over time, they'll add features like triggering an AI car to chase you, or police enforcing road rules etc.

Exciting stuff and thanks for starting the thread!

First thing that came to my mind were missions from Driver: Parallel Lines, especially "stick-up" missions (where you drive to location, pickup the robber and drive to another location escaping police) or, well, "perfect delivery" (basically same as we have in Beam but with time limit, police patrols and mission go from A to B, then B to C etc. several times without loadings or screen fade outs, simply get out of the car and hop in to next one).

I wonder how traffic density working tbh. I mean, is it possible to have dynamic changing density of cars on roads depending of time of day and location (more traffic in towns and highway, less on some side roads and at night) without fade outs screens or game hiccups.

Whole spawning traffic also should get some improvements like police cars that will chase us tend to despawn behind us like regular traffic, so a lot of times it's impossible for police to actually chase us. They can't speed up in time before they despawn so usually they'll just pop in in front of us. Same with criminals when we are "the law". They sometimes will despawn just behind the corner because camera lost the visual and this is how traffic despawning works.

I really enjoy the GtG scenario. It makes me drive cars I wouldn't normally pick and go places I wouldn't normally go on the map.

But it could use a few tweaks. I'd like to see something that gives a rating or whatever you want to call it for the delivery, some combination of time and damage. Like quick times and no damage is better than slow times and a lot of damage.

The AI is really bad. The random stops on roads and turning right from the left lane to exit the highway are just a couple. I'd also like to see some sort of "road density" for traffic spawns. For example, when there's heavy traffic the highway should be busy but the little side streets shouldn't have the same amount of traffic.

I would like to be able to turn off the road guide for the GPS, though. It's annoying to be constantly on. Or at least reduce the frequency of the markings on the road so it's not just a continuous line.

All in all, it's a fun scenario and I like to just jump into a car and try to get it somewhere in a mostly working condition.

I'm really liking this scenario, as it ticks a few boxes:
    - Easy and fast to pickup and start playing
    - Scoring gives a sense of purpose
    - Puts you in a variety of vehicles
    - Takes you all over the map
    - Endless, so its something to come back to.

    Some suggestions for future features:
    - Scoring system broadened to be based on time and damage.
    - Missions including Trucks with loads - delivering a car on a flatbed, or load of contraband in a semi
    - Missions where the on foot mode is utilised ,for example to swap vehicles mid-mission
    - Having to navigate yourself if your car doesn't have GPS
    - Event triggers, like AI cars chasing you.

I'm more than sure the Devs have thought of these already (and probably more), and I reckon this scenario will eventually carry over to the long awaited career mode.
They might be using this scenario test out the framework.

I personally would love to see option when I could choose cars and load traffic like in that GtG scenario in freeroam before loading map. There is "smart" option but it doesn't work for me and spawning traffic from menu will load random cars.

Hey! Thanks for all the feedback for the scenario. It was really fun to create something a bit different from our other scenarios, and I'm glad it was received well. In general, the goal for this scenario was to create a more relaxing, arcade-y and diversified experience.

    • You might have noticed we did some big changes to the Groundmarkers / Navigation arrows. Under the hood, they changed a lot, there was a very big rework we had to do because performance was really bad. We didnt have the time to add user-facing settings to be able to change appearance (disable/enable markers, 3d arrows, navigation-app-line), but some people in the company also voiced this request. We might add it at some later point.
    • The minimal distance had to be set to something^^ I think 700m is still some distance, considering the total size of the map.
    • Vehicle and location selection are actually truly random, meaning there is always the chance for "clumping". Often, games use pseudo-random distributions, reducing the chance of already selected elements to get a more "even" spread.
    • About special delivery types: I agree! It would be cool to spice up the deliveries with some "modifiers" or unique events. Unfortunately, there was no time for it.
    • About time limit: you are exactly right, this is the main reason we didnt add a timer to the deliveries. It is difficult to make a "tight" limit for a procedural route, and we didnt want to risk giving the player a time-limit that can't be beaten, thus ruining their run by chance.
    • Deliver Somewhere: If there was no GPS path, the location was probably not connected to the navgraph network. If you find it again, please post it here, thats not supposed to happen :)
    • The scenario only picks vehicles of the type "Car", no trucks or other types. It also skips vehicles which cannot accelerate properly (some of the "trash" configs)
    • About rating: Since we wanted to make it a more relaxing experience, we decided against individual delivery ratings.

About AI and Italy, I unfortunately can't give proper feedback, as this is not my area of expertise.

Also, I'm pretty impressed by 350 deliveries! What was your highest streak? Thank you all for the feedback!

Believe it or not... I didn't abandon a single delivery. However there were few situations where I almost lost it (mostly driving Pidgeon or getting distracted and trolled by AI). So yes, it's relaxing and quite easy with patience. That why I'd like to see some more challenging deliveries. Well, maybe not in regular GtG but in separate scenario or mode (Crazy Garage to Garage Delivery scenario?).

Any chance to bring D-series, H-series and Hopper to the pool?

I had no idea this scenario was added until I read your enthusiastic post. Thanks for introducing me to it, it's an exciting addition to this game!

Thanks for coming in here to comment!

On this one mission, the GPS said to drive up the grass to get to the destination. It's a one way street with no inlet, so there was no other path other than the grass. I ended up going the wrong way up the street since the Burnside would not have made it up the grass and my streak would have been broken :-/
