I would make GridMap kind of like the map you would use to test out a PC to see if it can run BeamNG at a decent pace. Maybe, like others have said, put a river, maybe some buildings, DEFINETLY some of the content from the 0.33 GridMap.
I might make a benchmarking gridmap seperate, but I don't like the idea of converting the current one. Currently most use GridMap as the fastest loading map (with objects) so they can quickly test cars, and making it a benchmark kinda ruins that...
Of course not. he means a human sized treadmill so that the walk mode characters can get their exercise. obviously jk
Yeah if they were to be breakable then the map would spawn with objects that you can replace/spawn/whatever
More extreme jumps, more diverse area's around the map like a small town with destructible buildings, if possible. And maybe make the inside Gridmap a bit bigger because it's just a bit "small" in my opinion and could use a bit more things and obstacles. There could also be something like a Rally course, or a Baja course to test a cars off-roading capabilities, and maybe a bigger crawl area. --- Post updated --- Forgot to mention a parkour course for walking mode of course.
Not gonna happen, Beam isn't advanced enough to simulate that properly. Same reason you don't see dynos in this game either. I would love for it to exist though. --- Post updated --- Speaking of this, what about a split ice road? So one wheel on ice and the one on pavement, to test tires or the powertrain.
places to do general suspension testing. Off-road stuff, a hill that slowly gets steeper to test how far a car can pull a trailer up it and what not. maybe something to test chassis flex on cars. things like that that are fun to test cars on. i dont just want a crashy smashy map. I want things i can do to test various car things. As ive grown older ive found Beam is a lot more than just the crashy car gets shot with tank and goes boom game.
Gridmap has suspension testing, the hill testing is on Automation test track, and it already has stuff for chassis flex too.
Maybe a really long speedbump strip, to test the endurance of suspension on vehicles. Maybe some "carcour"
I've now officially reached my conclusion on Grid Map Revamp: *drum roll* It's fantastic. I absolutely love it!
Maybe a dirt/gravel track for rallying; to tweak a rally car with suspension, gearing etc. More crude demolition for different areas of the car not just the front, wheels, underneath, bumpers, side(doors), anything that rips it apart but not in a weird buggy way, narrowing tunnels, pits with objects like spikes etc... Also a dedicated track with guard rails so you are confined to track limits which forces you to keep on track and not be able to come off easily.
