Wow, I cannot wait to see the 1JZ after that texture program is through with it. An old rusty Chaser would be amazing as well. I'd end up looking at the undercarriage for hours amazed at the dirt, grime, and old.
(imported from here) Oh shit that's my car -- Mythbuster, those renders from dDo look absolutely sensational! I wish I had your skillset omg
There is no skill involved in those renders My dog could litterally do it if he had fingers. It's litterally 1 click(not even joking) and it automatically renders out a scuffed metal texture with green paint. Sure, you need to load in the clean normal map(with the panel gaps and such), and ambient occlusion, but it's litterally 1 click to switch between pre-set textures... There's pre-sets for scuffed, brushed alluminium, or iron man red scuffed metal, or painted damaged concrete... It's insane. And you can apply multiple things on top of eachother, like I did with the rust over the green damaged paint. You can make the scuffs heavier or lighter(which I didn't even bother adjusting when I did the green thing) It calculates it all based on object volume, also considers the normal map(it automatically notices the wheelarches are places where it would scuff more than the middle of a door, because they stick out, so it puts more rust and scuffs there).. Can't wait to get back home from work and mess with it some more with some differently shaped objects, so I can find out how to get the optimal result for engine/suspension textures.
I totally understood everything you just said. *ahem* Really glad to see this car coming along as fast as it does, looking forwards to the next updates.
Just trying out my new texturing tool... This isn't final. The final version will be MUCH lower resolution, but in-game, you won't notice it being lower quality Pretty damn pleased. Nothing of about this is hand-made, other than the "2500 twin-turbo" logo These are both the exact same meshes... Just one is textured, the other isn't. (This is the top of the engine by the way, for those who don't know )
Dang that kind of quality I think Gabe needs to look into this software Beep Beep, Tapatalk coming through..
Wow, that's some nice texturing there. I rather like the weathered/oily effect, like you would see on an abused or forgotten car in which it's engine has never been cleaned. For a mint condition car though, little or no weathering would suit better.
Absolutely beautiful. This looks like it's gonna be a great mod (although I've never seen less from Mythbuster )!
Thanks a bunch guys! Been UV'ing the engine/gearboxes today in.... 3dsmax! Was quite a bit faster than doing it manually, but 3dsmax was also a pain in the arse because it never wanted to cooperate with me. UVs are the messiest ones I've ever done, but seeing as I'll use dDO and nDO it should work out fine... Fingers crossed.
Idk? Not gonna spend weeks so you can put Monster stickers on my engine? Why would you want to skin the engine anyway? XD That makes zero sense Then again, I didn't really specify that was just the engine. You can skin the outside pretty easily though
Hey Mythbuster send me the $$ and I'll buy this and get you all the reference pics u need lol. Beep Beep, Tapatalk coming through..
Inb4 Myth smashes your face...people keep saying this is a cressy, when it is a CHASER, significant difference in vehicles there. Although that's a sweet ass car to pick up, just to have. my neighbor had one a while back, he beat the shit out of it (5 speed 6 cyl) and actually blew the oil pan off, and it still drove for a few months with NO OIL lol
Says under location "Rockwood TN", Tennessee. I think the suggestion was that he could buy it and take a billion pics for mythbuster as pics are sometimes hard to come by for that car.
