Great explanation. I absolutely LOVE the concept of this mod and I think so far it is decent but needs a lot of work. It's not a bad mod, it's just an unfinished mod. Either way, I love it. I'd be upset to see the creator lose motivation because of this, but this is criticism, albeit some are a little harsh
I was NOT lowering the standards of modding just because 'I don't feel like it'. I just generally don't have the time to waste on this game. I think jbeaming in an hour or two is a bit of a stretch though considering I couldn't even get the jbeam to load in node beam editor. If you know how to fix that, let me know. Or, if you want to help me out with the jbeam I'd appreciate that to. But, this mod is a shit ton more than the piccolina with an engine swap, I spent HOURS designing each little body line flowing into the next. And yes, the body kit on the sport models is janky, I was done for the night and didn't go back to it. The exhaust, again, I have trouble with jbeaming stuff. Also, that is a modular system so yes it has its compromises.
Node beam editor has been outdated for years, I don't get why people still want to use it. For a start try to move the nodes manually in Notepad++ or something to proper places on the car. Start from the main chassis and work your way to smaller parts gradually. And maybe you should consider using the Vivace as a base instead, but idk. The Piccolina has a more reasonable weight for this car, but all the beam values will have to be changed drastically if you stick with it, meanwhile on the Vivace you will have to lower the weight which will mean editing all the beams anyway... unless you only use the node and beam propeties from the lightweight race parts, that would be a good compromise I think.
Ight I'm legit new to modding and mods, so how does one check the jbeam of a car? --- Post updated --- Like the structure and stuff and not just lines of text
I do it using debug options myself, you can enable them in settings, it's called "enable advanced options" or something, should be in UI tab or something like this. From my experience moving nodes is the most convinient when using the simple node visualisation with node names, and usually collision triangle debug helps with it because you can line up the nodes to have accurate collision like this.
I don't feel like reading through twenty pages of forums and correct me if I'm wrong but, if you had trouble jbeaming stuff, did you ask for help? I'm pretty sure there are many people willing to help you make the jbeam. (Also pretty sure you might have replied to the wrong person..)
Im talking about jbeaming a car from a base of another car. Like this mod, which can be easily edited to fit the body. If your focused on making any scratch jbeam anything then yes of couse it would take way more time
Bruh. Jbeam from 50s in 2020 or something car. I saw that and I know what I am saying. This has potential if author would work more on jbeam will be fixed. It looks good, idea is kinda nice. Author already knows, that jbeam structure MUST be fixed.
Dumb appraiser calls our actually good critics out cuz motivation go brr you don't release a mod if it's like 1% complete and expect people to be happy and give good reviews on it
Basically pulled a Cyberpunk 2077 Great idea Good concept Very bad application and execution rushed completion
??? I got banned for making alts, which wasn't on purpose. I've explained all of it to the moderator who uhh emailed me I wasn't speedrunning tho? Hella late reply cuz I just noticed that comment lol
