I got to thinking i know i never post anything but here is just an idea, BeamNG is a "car crash game/simulator", why not add in some test dummies so they have some sort of force readings and add in airbags and belt restraints. so anyhow that was my idea so lets have fun with beamng
Interesting idea, but you're not the only one who's suggested this. There must be at least 20 threads about this. There's a reason the first guideline for posting is to search.
Your right! BeamNG is a rip off of Call of Doooty! there are no such things of cars what so ever! -_-
Well, he's actually right. It's a physics simulator. Crashing isn't the only thing simulated in BeamNG (although it's arguably the coolest). Anyway, back on topic, having things like seatbelts and dummies might be cool, but only after the main physics have been perfected. I'd rather have the team spend time improving the simulator, adding game modes, and creating more content. The other stuff can come later. As for airbags, that's a horrible idea. Every time you hit a hard bump or slam another car, the airbags would deploy. As someone who drives a lot in first person, I don't want to have a massive marshmallow blocking my screen. Plus, accurately simulating an airbag would be pretty difficult.
Once airbags deploy, they deflate pretty fast. It wouldn't block your view but it'd flap around when the wheel is turned, if it's simulated to that level. I think airbags would be really cool, but maybe with a setting to disable them. I'd say they're a pretty long way down the road, if ever. I don't really mind it. There's stuff that needs attention sooner than airbags do.
actually, beamng isn't a crash simulator, it's a soft-body physics simulator, the phenomenal crashing just happens to be an awesome side affect of being soft-body
Hell, I wouldn't mind if the final game didn't have anyone in the seats. No blood or gore for this guy. Just want to drive and wreck cars.
this is a bad idea bcause it would be hard to implement and it would be hard to simulate with the engine to have crash test dummies and a windshield that works using the physics engine for physics simulation of the crashing and suspension
