Yet Another BeamNG Multiplayer Mod



Another multiplayer mod, what's the point!?
YAMM is based on a different principle than KissMP and BeamMP. YAMM uses static, non-collision models for maximum performance.

This leads to playable, and even perfectly smooth performance with a larger numbers of vehicles. No spawn lag, and no config change lag either.

What are the limitations?
- Default maps only
- Default vehicles only
- A generic model for each vehicle is used (so ex. configs and skins aren't synced)
- No sounds, particles, etc. Sounds may be supported in a future update.

Will mods ever be supported?
Potentially.

How do I install it? (Windows Only, might be Linux compatible through Mono)
Copy yamm_beamng_mod.zip to your BeamNG mods folder (located at %localappdata%\BeamNG.drive, then click on the "latest" folder)
Put the bridge somewhere you remember

How do I use it?
THE INSTALL PROCESS:


ONCE THE MOD IS INSTALLED AND WORKING:
- Start a level in freeroam mode. As long as the mod is activated, you'll automatically be put on a server with other players (or a new one will be started if needed)

The game will take ~30s longer to load than usual, pre-loading the models.

If you don't want to play with other people, simply deactivate the mod from the mods manager

You can spawn up to 2 vehicles (ex. truck and trailer), any more vehicles won't be synced with the server and you'll have to remove enough vehicles to spawn another.

Private servers?
Not supported at the moment.

Is it compatible with KissMP/BeamMP
In theory yes. You can still play either while this mod is installed without any issues.

then click restore

and you should be able to run it and have some fun!

but
you can drive with many people and do racing etc

Very cool. The performance boost is definitely nice- played with three other people on ECUSA with really no noticeable performance drop. Some UI in the future would be nice (chat, usernames, that kind of thing,) but I imagine you've already considered that.

 

I think this is perfect for people who just want to race and go offroading with a bunch of people.

Windows defender really likes to throw false positives

 

Tried this out on my potato computer and it was great! This mod is perfect for racing or driving around with no extra lag at all to what you get in singleplayer. (But I only get 30fps in singleplayer lmao)
One thing I wish was a thing is being able to see people's configs. Its so weird seeing a stock vivace racing around the track at 200mph...
