Then you get 50% more spying data being sent out from phone.

There are some interesting studies about that aspect in one Android did send location to Google 14 times in a hour while being untouched, but data was being sent even if you disallow and even if you set airplane mode on, really creepy things.

Photos taken and uploaded to Google got facial regonization run on them to ID the persons in photos and they even analyze facial expressions with their AI machine vision thing, which all gets into databases then.

You take SIM card out of Android phone and have wifi turned off and it still sends location via wifi according to studies.

IOS is not really innocent in regards of data mining, but I would not touch Android if wanting to be free individual and not 'slave' of megacorporations, better to stay away from both really.

lmao, if you care about privacy, install lineage os and remove everything big company related, ios doesnt even give you a chance to do so compared to any android phone

No, if you care about privacy, then no phone is only way to go today :D

Really they all have turned into this spyware stuff, but I guess EU is trying to do something about it.

There is something interesting that every phone user should read:

i get it, honestly i dont care about privacy a lot, but as far as general privacy settings and freedom of doing thing with a phone YOU own, android is a way to go. Apple is the most scummy tech company that gives you absolutely no freedom to do anything with the thing you own without jailbreaking it

Yeah, IOS is they decide device and Android is you get illusion to decide device while they still doing their way on background, but sure you do get more freedom, kind of.

Many don't care much about privacy, but you really should as it does affect what kind of world you will be living in a future:
    https://teachprivacy.com/10-reasons-privacy-matters/

EU is also going to do something about American companies invading privacy, but it really is just going to be too little too late as always :D

I still like to define spyware way it was done at 90's, anything that sends something without me asking is spyware, there isn't much that is not these days because people don't care anymore, it would certainly be beneficial to me and lead to world I wish if people would care more about privacy.

Then again I'm quite far from general view I guess and feeling world has sifted to really uncomfortable compared to what amount of privacy I had at 80's and still at 90's which I would like to have back, so obviously some closer to typical view individuals can see my need for improved privacy for future as different than what they except.

I guess that I just am too old for this ..... :D

Even american goverment is worried about privacy and how companies have turned out to leech data from individuals:

I don't know, most tech companies are kind of sketchy aren't they?

Apple isn't the worst anyway, and probably in my opinion the most secure phone you can get out of the box.

I'm afraid we derailed thread pretty badly though.

Anyway, my point was that solution is not always to switch phone, might actually be better to have that remote control app available for both camps :D

Seems like the iOS app has been taken off the appstore in most markets. If you do have an Android device, you can use the Play Store version.

Just use a messenger pigeon instead of a smart phone

He may not like being used as a steering wheel for sim racing but that's on him for choosing this life
