Been a while since I last posted any updates on this softroader 4 door light utility vehicle thing on this thread. Mostly just "under the hood" changes such as organizing and improving the jbeam, UV mapping the model, and cleaning up the mesh. The inside of the bed has been remodeled and somewhat textured, some different engines and a few other smaller parts have been added.
I use a single cylinder engine sound sample and place the sound samples at different timestamps and different pitches to generate these engine sounds using FL Studio. Its my first time doing sound synthesizing stuff so it will take some time before it gets better.
This mod looks absolutely fantastic. This thing looks to be dev quality, which is really rare to see on the forums. Touché. I am very excited for it to come out.
So, it's not your model, and you didnt edit the jbeam, moved a few verts around to make a foglight, and you get worshipped like a god while posting your patreon everywhere? Not crediting a model which you've used 90% of unedited, no matter if the original creator is fine with it, isn't an honourable way to mod. It's one thing to meshslap and state that its actually a meshslap, but omitting all of this information while providing patreon links constantly is misleading and pretty pathetic.
So I did a bit more digging into this, and found what appears to be the original source for both JsZ's stolen parts and the sketchfab mesh, which is in fact even closer to JsZ's parts as the sketchfab model seems to be simplified. The taillight as proven before is an exact match, as is the headlight reflector, however some parts granted have been remodelled (which isn't surprising as JsZ has several taillight mods already). The hood is almost identical with the edge loop mentioned in Ulrich's post being present. The grille is also very similar, whereas the sketchfab one was not. The bumpers are undeniably identical in many areas apart from matching it to the sunburst and the foglight cutout, which obviously doesn't match the rest of the techniques used on the mesh as it is much rougher and without bevelling. There are the odd parts which have flipped triangle edges likely due to being automatically turned into quads and then back to tris. This sketchup mesh has been around since 2014, has also itself been reuploaded many times and is likely from NFS or some other older game. It is not something you can "get permission for". Also, using a model as "reference" by remodelling over many of the same vert positions isn't really what you should be doing. https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/52c0adae9be5dba12e877e82c90c24d/2007-Subaru-Impreza-WRX-STI TLDR; Not only have you lied about creating this first off, you then lied and said you had permission and knew the author when you were caught. Not only with this mod, but other meshes you claim to be scratch made are also rather suspicious. Trying to get money off people for this on patreon is absolutely a disgrace. Comparisons with sketchup model: Headlight with identical base mesh and some alterations to the reflectors Front bumper with very similar topology, especially around the canard and vent as Ulrich showed Almost identical hood save for some edge loop removal Undeniably identical parts of the front bumper identical rear taillight
