Was following this mod closely at a time, I come back today to find the thread locked, and all future plans in the description changed. Was the community just too much for LucasBE forcing him to kill it off? If this post makes anyone upset please just let me know and I will take it down immediately.

Basically people were being ultra disrespectful and didn't care about the update of the mod because it had no BTTF stuff and kept asking about the BTTF update and begging and not reading the thread at all. Then also some people started calling the mod bad because it has 1 tiny shading issue at the door gaps where nobody even looks. Not surprised it was locked after all of that.

byeah, the community has been rough for a little while and its been stressing lucas out, as well as his personal life. Thats mostly why his 90's etk mod will be available on patreon to help fund his life and he said its most likely that last mod he'll make.

That person didn't, he only reported the shading issue, and someone even found a fix to that some time alter.

I don't often comment, and perhaps this is out of place, but I feel like the community has recently entered a very negative and dark phase. All sort of mods being cancelled, people quitting, threads going down the drain faster than ever. What a shame.

No one called it bad, he simply pointed out the "bug" and even provided a fix. Lucas just had a hissyfit it over for no reason, and everyone was jumping down vmlinus's throat for doing nothing wrong.

well, I didn't really follow the thread, all I did was download the mod, but that's sad that he quit working on it. I don't see why everyone had to throw a fit over the fact that there was no back to the future version, if they wanted it that bad they should have downloaded the other DeLorean mod. it cant be that bad to have just the normal DeLorean. the community is sometimes to harsh and it makes me sad.

    So basically,
    • Modder makes regular DeLorean car
    • community asks for BTTF version
    • Modder accepts the request
    • some guy finds a shading issue
    • community doubles down and calls mod bad
    • Modder scraps mod
    OR as someone else said
    • Modder made modded car
    • some random guy found a shading issue and told the Modder about it
    • Modder got angry
    • Modder Accused the random guy of harassing him
    • The community doubles down on the accusation and starts insulting the random guy
    • Modder blames the community
    • Modder scraps mod
    So even more basically
    1. Modder got harassed by the community
    2. OR Modder is too sensitive
    I wonder which one's true

I think you forgot this possibility :

    • Modder takes months to make a car, publishes it for free and available to everyone
    • Forum users bash modder for not including a back to the future version
    • Forum users ask modder to include 12 bazillion different features
    • Modder receives threats over not including a back to the future version
    • Modder is fed up of the people that are effectively harassing him over a vehicle mod for a video game
    • Random person posts a valid complaint
    • Modder overreacts because he's a human and gave in after weeks of harassment
    • Modder apologizes for his actions even though he wasn't ever required to do so
    • Modder still decides to publish updates for the mod. Mod still works perfectly fine with the latest version of the game.
The Delorean mod, while it's not getting any "regular" updates, doesn't really need any. It still works perfectly fine and I have no idea why some people decided it would be a great idea to call it "dead" even though it's still perfectly fine.
Typical case of this community making a mountain out of a pile of dirt. It really sickens me and makes me wonder why I even spend time making stuff for people if they don't even care about it at all.

I speak for the sane people on the forums here: It's moreso the morons on here that both cause and feed this drama crap. The mods you make are greatly appreciated by most who aren't lamborghini-wanting 7-year-olds. You can see all of the effort and time put into them. Every day it seems that there are more kids (too young for the forums) and morons on here, and they ruin the community's reputation. These idiots shouldn't count as members of the community. The real community here does care.

I think it'd be nice if the forum rules had a revamp to prevent this kind of stuff, as well as a PSA about the reporting system, encouraging its use more(If it isn't already).

Reporting system REALLY needs a PSA and some general guide how to use it. As far as I can tell the devs ignore the vast majority of reports because they are badly written, whatever that even means.
