I love driving in traffic as fast as I can, taking advantage of my engine power at the exact right moment to pass slow traffic cars, this is fun. I would be happy to do this in time trial mode. Would it be possible to add AI traffic in the time trials? Maybe not on all of them because it makes no sense on a race track, but it can be fun in city roads. I understand it is not totally fair because traffic does not always react the same, it is AI driven, but this would be part of the fun I think. Please let me know what you think about this idea.
Yeah, your idea seems fun. But take in accountability that AI cars are made to be...well, AI cars. And they do what they're told. We have some control ourselves thought. For example wheter you'd like the AI to chase you, flee from you, go random places or line up and act naturally in traffic mode. To make all of this (above) you'd have to use some of your free time. Luckely for us, the devs have their job to create and make - which is exactly why we even have such a complicated and fun game in the first place. I get your idea, but if this ever happens, it would've taken some time.
I understand I should be more precise in my description because I am sure my suggestion is easier than it seems. I would just like to be able to have AI traffic during a time trial, in other words drive as fast as possible from point A to point B with traffic (instead of empty roads). In these conditions, I think the only valid option for AI would be to go random. I can't imagine having traffic chasing me or fleeing for a time trial. It means I would just like to be able to activate the traffic exactly like it is activated for the GTG Delivery scenario.
Haha, dont worry, Traffic mode isnt chasing or fleeing - it's what you're looking for. Maybe this gets noticed in the near future, who knows?
I mean, if you really want to have AI in Time Trials, then technically you can: I even moved my userfolder to make sure everything is pure vanilla Beam.
Thanks for the trick, I did it and it works, even though I didn't switch to safe mode like you did. It is fun
I only switched to safe mode to make sure none of my many mods would not be loaded. Also you could add the traffic app instead of the radial menu(or both) to change the AI parameters, although then you would need to spend time spawning your own traffic vehicles if I remember correctly.
I see. I will try the Traffic app because setting the traffic through the radial menu showed a problem: the traffic is not always appropriate according to the place you are driving at. For example, yesterday I was running a time trial in Italy (hill climb #2) and I happened to have American trucks in very narrow streets, they were blocking the way, especially with the Wigeon that drives in the middle of the road... Restarting the same race again, I had other traffic vehicles: European small cars, that was much more coherent. The 3rd time I had US vans and American cars, strange in Italy... The choice of traffic vehicle was looking like random, whereas I thought it was based on the driving location.
