Really awesome noise, but the wooshing noise that is coming in around 2200RPM i think that should come in at maybe 1900RPM, as im sure the buses in my area aren't regularly above 2200RPM Adding a retarder sound would be amazing

 

Thanks well the buses in my area are not driven around by lunatics like me that like to make them scream to redline . Still, I just recorded what the transmission was capable of producing at the the highest possible RPM redline for this engine, which as described was 2400rpm however i put it at 2500rpm in the engine file just because it's quiete nice hearing it sound harsh and loud . Also the 2230rpm sample is actually a legit RPM like the rest, however in the blend file i needed to put it up by another 100rpm so the "top end" transition sounds more like it does IRL...minus the transmission whine or the axel scrub.

Yeah I'm working on a way round to implement a retarder sound, proving tough at the moment but i'm keeping trying ideas .

I need a seperate profile for it otherwise it sounds a bit pants...

I'll look into whether or not the old sbeam method will work better for the sounds, perhaps i could use it for a new sound output.

Well OMSI Bus Simulator has all sounds for all known buses.
Maybe you can take some inspirations

you're probably not even working on this mod anymore.
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for creating this mod, I really enjoy it.
If you happen to read this and are planning on continuing the mod at one point, I have two suggestions:
- adjust the torque curve (I think this engine has its max torque at 1200rpm, but it's higher in-game)
- soften out the rpm limiter so the redline sound isn't as abrupt
- add this engine for all kinds of buses, not just the standard dt40L
