November isn't that far away actually.

Also, if the new car doesn't get a police package I will be sad

Thank you! That's why I was curious- the map itself looked as though it had reflections and was using PBR textures, but i wasn't sure if it was just a good render :D

I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a new Barstow, just like the Charger became a sedan (better than a FWD Hatchback, to be honest). And why not multiple body styles, just like the Bluebuck?

On the teaser, some people might know that the GM is pretty much a mix of Chevrolet Caprice and Ford Crown Victoria. In the GM's era, those two were the police and fleet cars made by America, produced for the world.

Many think that in the teaser, the grille looks like that of an Aston Martin, and with the haunches of a Charger, and lights of a Volvo. Now it just so happens that an American company bought Aston to take that famous grille and use that shape on some of their cars. This was Ford, who brought that grille most recognizably to the Ford Fusion (Mondeo), which also has those skinny lights. (and Ford did at one point also own Volvo, although this is only tangentially related) The Ford Fusion (Mondeo) and Dodge Charger happen to currently be the police and fleet cars made by America, produced for the world.

To conclude, I think it will be a modern American full size semi-sports sedan (probably under the Gavril nameplate) to succeed the GM. :)

Well, in th 70's both the Charger and the Challenger were coupés. If the new car come with a coupe variant, itt would be a good revival of the Barstow name. Maybe even only as a sedan would still be fitting.

Here's the problem though: the Challenger was a pony car while the Charger was a muscle car. A pony car is a small, purpose-built sports car while a muscle car is a mid- or full-size family-style car with upgraded power and handling. Guess which one the Barstow is?

So calling the new car a Barstow would be applying a pony car nameplate to a muscle car. This was extremely rare, although you could make the argument that the Fox-platform Mustang was a true muscle car given its Fairmont/LTD underpinnings.

Also worth noting that BeamNG has only two traditional American muscle cars, the Bluebuck and the Grand Marshal, unless you count the Moonhawk which I don't (not enough power, kind of junky all around).

    Yes I do!

On-topic: If it is in fact a muscle car - seems likely given its squared-off roofline, neo-coke-bottle Bluebuck styling cues and overall large size - of course there will be batshit insane Hellcat clones, but I want to see what the more boring trims are like. V6? Turbo 4? Hubcaps? Who knows?

I noticed that the front end does give off kind of a Maserati look with the grille and the lights, but the rest of the car looks more like a Charger

The charger was the one and only mid-sized ponycar. Coronet R/t took the muscle car job. Barstow is also a lot closer to the charger than the challnger in size.
The Fox platform underpinned "compacts", too. The mustang Mk.I was based on the Falcon compact.

The Barstow is the same size as the '71 Mustang (4.8m), so it definitely is a Pony Car. All Muscle Cars I know are larger than 5 meters, closer to 5.4m actually!
The Moonhawk, on the other hand, apart from its 5.5m length, definitely is a Muscle Car for the same reason a '78 Camaro with a Small-Block 120hp V8 is a Muscle Car: they both belong in the Malaise era of the Muscle Car and the term "Pony Car" had already been abandoned by then! ;)

Hmmm, could be! Just like the Wendover which came after it!

Tbh, I don't even think about a Turbo Inline-4 in such a big car. But yeah, it would be interesting to see a modern DOHC V6 in it, although Gavril's 3.8/4.1 Inline-6 could also make a great comeback as a kinda-Barra engine, available in both NA and turbocharged versions!

One thing's for sure: if there are gonna be Police versions, they gotta have a Police Package with iron wheels, a ram bar up front, a Heavy-Duty undercarriage and, of course, an automatic V8 powertrain!

For some reason that new car looks fairly close to a Maserati Quattroporte. Might make sense if its a F Segment Luxury car as that is a vehicle niche that is sadly lacking in vehicles. We already have a Compact executive car with the 800 series ETK and a Executive car with the I Series but the F segment is missing a car to fill it.

Also it kind of looks like a BMW 8 Series Gran Coupé somewhat too.

EH, I don't think the Barstow would become a 4-door, tbh. Gavril already had two sedans: Bluebuck, Grand Marshal (technically three if you count the Burnside), so in my eyes it would make sense to take one of those nameplates for the new Sedan... if it even is a Gavril, that is. It still remains to be seen.

I'm personally also getting the same Aston and modern Ford vibes from this.

Wish we had a better view of the grill.

honestly it could be a new burnside seeing as that is the luxury division and burnside only has one car, more evidence for this is the newer looking burnside logo in the utah dealership.
