Console people would love the game too. Ps5 and Series X/S.

Seen many people ask in different places. Facebook BeamNG pages and YouTube comments is where the most of them have been. I would think the next gen machines are capable.

I know the new consoles are more powerful than the i7700k and gtx 1080 I ran it on at 4k. But I also understand the nightmare it would be to get it ported. With the World Editor and mod support.. Likely a nightmare ! hehe. Not a programmer so I have no idea how it would be. Defiantly last gen would not be able too. I think its likely console people may not be into hard core sim stuff like we are. May be a limited audience. I would wait until career mode is out to have more of a audience.
No sweat on the English. I would imagine my English is not great and I am from US. If not for spell check I would look like a real dummy :)

Beam devs said on steam they will most likely never port it to cosole because it would require completely re-writing the lua scripts and even then it wouldn't have mod support, etc. Plus it would bring way more 5 year olds to the community and that is the last thing that needs to happen.

    >Not to mention that all updates would have to be thinking of keeping optimization for year old consoles no matter how good they want the game to look, or the fact that there is no feasible way to have mods work properly or a mod manager work there.

It would have to be a scaled back version where they get access to mods pc players make that are Car_Killer approved. But likely no way to make their own. Like how Skyrim and Fallout 4 gave console players mod access to name a couple. Dying Light was another that just gave some of the best ones to consoles. No I did not mean the old consoles. It would be a next gen only. The old ones would not run it. CPU's are no good. Guess it depends on the target audience mostly. How many next gen owners are they and how many are into these type of games. Maybe raise the price after Career launches and throw some feelers out there. I know from all my console years I never saw anything as impressive as the collisions in beamNG. All those pretty racing games they have look good, but the wrecks are fake as a 3 dollar bill :) How receptive would console players be to not having licensed cars or music. Think they may be younger audiences in general where that is more important than realism in the sim. I don't know really how well it would work. They could make a demo in a couple years and throw it out there maybe.

Beamng needs too many buttons to work on a controller, they would have to leave out half of the features.

The can have wheels with a button press like right bumper opens 2nd menu. Also they support keyboards. But I agree it would be a scaled down version as far as what all we have. It may be a more of a nightmare than its financially worth.

im not sure if this is the right comparison, but microsoft flight simulator, it is ported to the xbox, and it is one big simulator with a ton of buttons, so to have access to everything, even with the xbox you will need a keyboard for some stuff.
beamng would need to have a console purpose port that devs need to build to support consoles. it has lots of button to press.
microsoft was able to port their big sim on xbox, but..... have you ever heard of microsoft?..... they have no $$$$$ limit.....
if it was the case for beamng, we would see a console port announcement within the 1.0 release date. but beamng is a small indy dev company with sadly less resources...

so as much as every 10 year old comments on every youtube videos, and as much as everyone will bug the devs to make this. i really dont think its ever gonna happen.

the best bet you will have to play this on consoles is, JAILBREAK!!!!
i wont get in too much detail, but ive seen some vids with linux running off of a ps4, id love to see proton running off of it and trying out beamng.
jailbreak your ps5 and install linux (this is for wayyy in the future when there is even a jailbreak available for ps5)
as much as its been the #1 excuse in the past, these new gen consoles are showing signs of having more then enough power to run this game.
its just a matter of doing it, but beamng dont have the resources for that. (yet....maybe....) idk im not tdev and i got no clue of their bank account so i cant say.

resources and time, which both are limited, and i think beam is too much of a niche to sell well on consoles.

Well, Wreckfest is probably the most realistic game I’ve seen in console, but it doesn’t come close to Beam. Also, lots of games have had plenty of success without name brands (Burnout Paradise, Wreckfest)

Forgot about Wreckfest ! Its a form of soft bodies, not as good though as BeamNG's. Licensed does not matter to me. I honestly never really paid much attention to the games to even notice if they use them. Just care about how it plays. Likely many others like me as you say others have done really well in the past without.

1.0, pitch the game to Microsoft for an exclusive and see how much they are interested. If enough $$$ hire a company to do the port.
FS2020 is a great example of many buttons with support. Think if Microsoft backs something they will bring their checkbook too. Just a matter of how much they get in return from sales. Likely less than Steam takes but I don't know.
Next gens about a 8core 16 thread, with 10 and 12 teraflops GPU. Maybe enough for about 350-425 beam score I would guess. I would not bet on that number though lol. Just a rough guess based on my own score with my set up.

I don’t think I they would sellout to Microsoft and tbh I wouldn’t want them to earthier because they might make the devs do something that they don’t want to do. Also, those specs would probably be more than enough to run Beam, I didn’t know that they were that powerful!
