Possibly the dumbest question in history

    Will mods from the CryEngine era work in modern-day BeamNG?

    Very, very unlikely. Those old mods contain LUA that will not work in the newer versions of the game.

    I was thinking that. I just found an old mod imported to beam from ROR of the map penguinville.

    Maps would probably work, but not well, or not without some file editing. Cars definitely wouldn't work without file editing.

    Well... remember... the CryEngine version was never released to the public. That was basically an internal build only. So, in all technicality, the answer is "no" only because none actually exist.

    That being said, you can dig deep on the forums and dreg up some really old mods. The only thing that would need done is to modernize the powertrain section and wheels section... and perhaps a couple of suspension components. Most of the rest of the JBeam structure has remained relatively unchanged otherwise. The models on the other hand would need new materials sections to be built for sure as I think that has all been completely revamped in how its handled even before PBR was added.
