Development Screens (Each post contains a picture OR contributing post)

Some of you might have already noticed, I'm working on my old truck mod again, restarted almost all of it from scratch because the old version was bad and had clipping everywhere. I made a skin UV map for the hood made by Sithhy, and it works with D-Series skins now. Modified frame model, it's no longer a straight copy of T-Series frame. Moved side steps and fuel tanks so that the exhaust stacks can be attached to B pillars later. Renamed a lot of stuff in the Jbeam to make it compatible with a short frame and a 4-axle variant in the future. Redone V8 (low trim) engine and transmissions, higher trims will use modified bus engine I think. Some parts are not re-Jbeamed yet so I didn't put them on the picture. It's a separate vehicle now so can't use D-Series parts before I copy them.

I need name suggestions though... It used to be called Gavril D55 but this name makes no sense because the number is supposed to be the weight class, so I'd rather give it a unique name despite it still being part of D-Series technically like the Charro.

 

Some progress has been done today, but not that much, I need to work on other mods too. I don't think any of the parts you see here is stock from the T-Series aside from wheels and most of the suspension, they all have modified models and Jbeams to fit the D-Series cab better. In old version basically nothing was modified and it was bad lol. Also there are new PBR rusty textures (optional of course, they are a skin). On the back I also readded all the stuff from the old version of the mod like rear bumper mounts and tow hitch.

Obviously I'll have to modify the doors too when I get to them, because the stacks now attach to B pillar where the doors would be, so I have to extend the pillar and shorten the doors. (And also there's some unused panel gap where the front fenders would attach as they are part of the hood now, so front doors will be slightly extended that way.) Probably no extended cab then, just normal and crew, because the pillar would be so wide and rear door so narrow that it would be impractical, and irl I don't think these things have extended cabs, it must be hard enough to get inside anyway. (Maybe I should make sidestep fuel tanks on the back for crew cab?)
