Everyone I know is happy with Steam, you can have all your games organized on your library, updating is as simple as possible, there is a store to buy a ton of games and has great prices... You can get a refund if you feel like they lied to you, but everyone else here is happy having the game on Steam, and it also helps the devs because now there is no need to have their own launcher so that is less stuff that they have to deal with.
Something tells me that you haven't even tried steam nor do you know what DRM is (hint, every single game you buy nowadays got some sort of DRM, including Beamng Drive).
99% of the players demand steam. I guess you are part of the 1% then Even within steam, the game will be DRM free. We will look into the option of providing a setup.exe inside the forums, but without an updating system. We can also refund you money if you want, we are not a**holes
Offine mode works fine for you. As far as the rest of us, I know numerous people (both online and in person) who've had the same problems with Steam that I have.
Personally, I would enjoy keeping an up to date standalone version, mainly because I don't think I should have steam on my school tablet, so I would like to just play BeamNG without steam. Even if it means horrendusly slow speeds when updating, anything beats getting in trouble for having steam on my tablet.
If we're using exactly the same program and it works for me but it doesn't for you, then there is something wrong in your end. I don't know, the OS, some configuration, etc etc, but it's always worked for me and my brother and all of my friends.
Hi all, I have my drive key, downloaded, but for some reason can't use drive forum...And I used the same email address for everything.
You have to click the link in the email from when you bought the game originally to link your forum account and access the Drive parts of the forum.
They are anal about having steam on there, but games in general aren't a huge deal. I'd have to go into a discussion about it. I would gladly take it to PM to discuss, because it would be annoying to type out on phone. To be short, they really only care for steam, and other stuff doesn't really matter to them. [I actually use a cracked dll file to play my steam games without steam (the games are legit, don't worry.)]
