My new PC is almost done! This was my 500$ PC that I have been making for 2 months now and it is almost ready to trash BeamNG (sort of) I just don't have the processor! The specs are: Cpu: None (But it will be a AMD Athlon X4 760K 3.8Ghz) Motherboard: MSI A88X-G43 ATX Video Card: MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost 2GB RAM: G.Skill RipJawsX 1x8 GB Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 1TB PSU: Corsair CX500 500 Watt Case: Enermax iVektor White ATX Mouse & Keyboard: Logitech MK270 Monitor: Acer 21" 1080p (Not the one shown it is currently on my other PC) OS: Windows 7 Ultimate (and maybe Linux) Mousepad: Steelseries Pad Here is some pictures:
Re: My PC is almost finished! BeamNG doesn't like AMD. I'm planning to get a 4670K just because of that.
Re: My PC is almost finished! I just want to tell you, what a load of crap. My 8350 runs this game just as good, if not better than intels overpriced shit, A.K.A 4670K ''Nice build though
Re: My PC is almost finished! Don't start a war because you will lose, the 4670k, even my 2500k kicks your 8350 ass over and over again in any game including this. It is a fact, not an opinion.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Wow, so you are saying that your old 2500 with pathetic 4.0ghz is better than my 8350? Well, then you are wrong. Run Cinebench and tell me your scores and then come back.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Cinebench? Is that a game? NOPE. And still there is barely no difference: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/2012/11/06/amd-fx-8350-review/3 And 4Ghz is not pathetic, considering the higher IPC it's like an AMD running at 4.5Ghz or more.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Uh, no. BeamNG loads one car per core (unless, of course, there are more cars than CPU threads). An AMD 8350 has twice as many cores as a 4670, but look at single core benchmarks. Oh, and the clock speed doesn't really matter unless there's a huge difference.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Dont bother with the 4670k, get the 4690k instead. Costs less than $5 more, supposedly runs cooler (although I am seeing limited evidence of this) and has 100MHz higher clock speeds - - - Updated - - - BeamNG features its own benchmarking tool which time and time again has proven AMD to fall far behind intel for what is much closer to real world performance than Cinebench. AMD is not bad, its an entirely valid choice, particularly on a budget, but intel is proven better in the very same benchmark you've chosen there and in real world testing. Its just Intel costs alot more. My next round of PC upgrades will be intel based although thats because nobody makes an AM3+ mini-itx motherboard at the moment.
Re: My PC is almost finished! I'm not changing CPU until early 2015, so I might get a 5th gen if it's worth it.
Re: My PC is almost finished! AMD does not handle BeamNG well. Sure you can get by, but his 2500k is better in BeamNG.
Re: My PC is almost finished! None of the AMD processors have virtual cores. It has 4 modules which themselves consist of 2 physical cores. However these 2 physical cores do have shared cache, FPU, instruction prefetcher and peripheral access giving them slight bottlenecks (the prefetcher was designed with the 2 shared cores in mind though so doesnt really contribute here). As a result the 8350 is 8 physical cores not 4+4, but they are just slightly bottlenecked on chip.
Re: My PC is almost finished! People I am getting an AMD chip because of budget reasons, I have nothing against Intel, also I play a lot more than BeamNG. This computer will still kick my other 7 year old computer's ass.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Well, from my experence with AMD / INTEL with this game, peformance is not the issue, but certain maps did not work on my AMD computer, but when I transfered the same file via usb from my amd pc to my intel pc, the map worked fine, so its just some issues atm, both AMD / INTEL processors ran BeamNG fine.
Re: My PC is almost finished! Same reason I currently run AMD on my desktop, does the job and is the cheaper option
Re: My PC is almost finished! Okay, that is a comparison of cpus being used unrealistically, in this case BeamNG Performance Comparison is a realistic statistic to test with. also you as I will restate what the internet says all the time to a couple of slightly blind people is that core speed isn't 100% of the performance factor.
