Hello, I just got a new vr headset and not sure how to set it up for beamng. I know there isnt vr support so im not looking to get a full vr experience. I want to use the oculus link which is basically a virtual desktop and shows your desktop screen onto the vr. I want to combine that with Track IR. I have no idea how to get the track ir to work i only managed to get beam onto oculus link. If anyone has tried this and knows how to set it up, please let me know as I need someone to guide me through the setup process. If you have reddit, leave your username and i'll dm you there. Thanks. --- Post updated --- Help Please --- Post updated --- Anyone?
TrackIr should work out of the box, just start the software, i use opentrack, which is far better than the TrackIr software.
my vr wasnt working with trackir. It wouldn't detect it. I deleted it and downloaded opentrack instead and it works now.
Sorry to bump, but I came across this as I would like to use my Quest 2 as a tracking device for pseudo-VR experience, and wanted to check on a few things if possible? Are you running the Steam version of BeamNG? Are you using Oculus Link and running the game through the desktop view, or are you using the separate Virtual Desktop application (I hear this can conflict as Steam doesn't like having two apps open concurrently)?
Hello, Yes i am running beamng on steam. I use the oculus air link as i dont have the cable and i use the oculus desktop view. I don't use the virtual desktop app as its paid. Im not sure if they conflict but im pretty sure steam vr doesnt conflict with other apps running in the background as i was using a ps4 controller emulator in the background as well as the game and the logitech stuff.
Just had a play with this myself.. My findings are in this thread: https://www.beamng.com/threads/trying-vr-in-beamng-sort-of.83558/
