Update Speculation thread

i think it will be this year, probably early december, if not then i'd say it would be within the next week

OH no new photo. Hmmm Well seeing the last teaser was a Video.
and the devs Had time to Stop the Hype. I.E Saying it is not ready yet.

Makes me think that the update is near. ( Or the opposite ) But keep in mind T-Dev said Nov will be earliest.
now we late Nov does not mean anything. I think this is a Mouth of polish.

Then i think Dec will be a Final Bug check. Wright up Dev Blog. Tesaers ( like quite a few BEFORE the update )

I remember last update they did the new video if the PBR about a few days before That was NOT a Tuesday AFAIK.

Same with the prerunner Pickup.

And the Small Island demo a few days before the update.

i'd bet that spring is too early, there's only 6 days left of it

considering sitthy and ATV know what it is, and they're pretty proficient in Jbeam stuff, I'm wondering if it's that in-game JBeam visualiser/editor which was mentioned a while back.

Okay, so there have been no teasers for the last three weeks or so. This is perhaps a good thing! With all that we've seen so far, it's an indication that the dev team is working hard, polishing the new content until it shines. I wouldn't be surprised if the update was right around the corner.

I do wonder what the map team is up to - if I had to hazard a guess, I'd imagine that they're implementing working traffic lights for maps other than ECUSA. That's probably a complicated task, but maybe not so complicated that they aren't also handling a few small additions to existing maps. I hope that they're also adding street name signs - those are a detail that I miss every time I turn a corner in the game.

when I thought I couldn't possibility lose more hope in this thread, you guys surprise me everytime.

 

FYI the PBR teaser was on a Tuesday. 22nd June

 

Dont get me wrong, i think the car is great BUT i remember something about a dev in discord saying something that sounded like its be 'really' big. Also might be the reason theyve postponed the release from the 3 month cycle.

 

A new car is always a big thing in this game, that's what the game is mainly about, duh!
The freezer is just a little surprise prop for breaking the ice (pun intended) while waiting for the update! Hope it's also got cans/bottles of Beambeer and Tasticola inside and they're part of the fridge's Parts Selector!
I think one of the biggest news besides the new car is the artificial map lighting by way of working street poles. It would be amazing seeing this in maps like the East and West Coast USA, they're unusually dark without such lighting during nighttime.

 

What if the "sound overhaul" that was mentioned by someone (i dont know who) is included in the update. It could be one of the "bigger things" the devs are working on. Maybe i am thinking to far but idk

 

Back on topic. I am just gonna wait until we have actual stuff to talk about.

Don't forget that devs mentioned that they come back to 4-month release. And obviously they want to introduce more content than before.

Literally, 99.9% of the community on this thread is kind, but just a bit too over-excited. I bet devs are having always a laugh reading through this thread. I'm wondering if they play bingo when we try to guess what the new car is.

 

I think ppl in this thread are quite civilized still and one of the most sensitive threads since ots about new updates. Hell, its almost 2000 pages and we only get the occasional 'im angry' post which is swiftly shut down by others, that for the day woke up on a better side, in this thread.

Good job ppl and remember; the worse you behave, the less do you seem to care about BeamNG.

 

I think if the update was not close. Some DEV will tell us so.
