I've had an idea for breakable windows.
Front and rear windows acting as if they where laminated i.e. acting as a sheet of broken glass held together by a thin sheet of laminate similar to real life.
Side windows acting just as broken glass would in real life. Once the glass is missing from the door, it would obviously lose its collision mesh with the car door.

I've also had an idea for deflatable tires.
Tires could deflated by broken glass from side windows from a car or glass from breakable props within the environment, such as sharp metal objects or broken glass.
Too much weight on the car or to much pressure on the tires such as hitting a pot hole could also cause a tire to burst.
Burnouts could also cause a blowout. side note - cars without ABS brakes could acquire flat spots

I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE FORUMS YET FOR THIS IDEAS SO DON'T HASSLE MORE FOR "STEALING YOUR IDEAS". thank you kindly

I don't know why you're so aggravated, but it looks like you still haven't looked hard enough. But that was only for burnouts causing a blowout, which also featured in GTA 4, from the top of my head. :)

Safety glass shatters into tiny pieces, and typically wont deflate a tyre. Exceeding a tyres' load index may cause it to bulge, but the carcass holds the tyre together if it "explodes", so it's not too exciting to watch. Flat spots aren't noticeable if you aren't physically sitting in the car; it's visually quite subtle. If realistic road noise was implemented, it might be a fair idea *wink wink nudge nudge, devs*.

Realistic glass, safety and laminated, are probably already in the works.

lol, Im not pissed off or anything, i just wanted to get my point across that i hadn't looked through the forums or anything, so dont blame me if i missed it.

yes, i got the idea for blown-out tires from a burnout from gta 4.

front windows usually stay in a a sheet, just shattered and held together but a sheet of laminate. rear windows on the other hand may react the same way depending on when the car was built (older models would have a laminated rear window while a newer car would) so i put the laminated glass or safety glass and door glass on separate lines because yea, i know safety glass doesnt puncture a tire but door glass will shatter and it could. if being implemented, then sorry :)

i know flat spots aren't to noticeable, but it may affect the cars handling if it were implemented. also bald tires would have a similar affect on the cars handling.

    It's already implemented.
Check the Cliff Tumble video's beginning & ending.
You can see the Marshall's side windows breaking (it is a bit hard to notice, but you can see it & broken glass debris falling from the car), & the front windshield still intact but horribly shattered. Also, in the end, you can notice very small bits of the side window still in-place along the edges of where the original glass was.
I think you could see it in the previous livestream (although since I already knew about the windows breaking I wasn't keeping an eye out for that).

I remember seeing a reply to a similar thread about tyre wear. The idea was that every time a force is exerted on a tyre node, then the sidewall beam is shortened by a corresponding amount. Granted this amount is likely to be insanely small, but agressive driving will exert more force on the nodes, thus burning through tyres quickly. Also, it would be able to simulate normal tyre wear. As the beam gets shorter, it would pass certain thresholds, each having a modifier on the corresponding wheel node. Let's say you wore a 3/4 inch flat spot on the tyre, then the notes at that point on the tyre would have their friction value reduced, simulating having worn through the tread. Eventually, the final threshold would be the tyre popping. These thresholds would have different values set depending on the tyres you bought (if we are going forward with customization) so the game could have "good" and "bad" tyre manufacturers. As for your thing about broken glass popping tyres, it would be neat to see map assets and physics objects have a modifier that gives them a % chance of rupturing a tyre on contact (modified further by a "durability" value on the tyre).
    -------------------------------------------------------EDIT----------------------------------------------------------------
The idea of changing the lengths of sidewall beams based on force applied to wheel nodes was originally Kamil_'s.

    Hehe, that was my idea

Personally, I think this is a good way to do it; seeing as we have tire skidding, this works works on the same principle.
