none of the mods work fullstop, no level no car no nothing if it's not default in the game or it edits one of the default cars or levels it wont work. loading a modded level crashes the game loading in a mod car the game does nothing. spawns nothing just the camra floating there doing nothing i can change back to a default cat and it's fine but anything that's not default with the game does absolutely nothing now. Yes i've verified my game cashe i've redownloaded all the mods i've redownloaded the entire damn game and it's broken. getting really tired of this.

When trying to load a map it gives the error in a second window "Failed to create Resource [Levels/*****/*****.ter" and haver oking 70 errors it loaded and there as nothing.. like it was just blank and i was driving on nothing. found a large orange square with NO MATERIAL writen on it though

You guys both realise your steam install is seperate from your old install so it won't load mkds from your old install until you move them over.

Right click BeamNG in steam. Properties, local files, browse local files. New vehicles get extracted into vehicles and levels into levels. The steam version is the same as the standalone version (confirm the checksums if you want, it is 100% identical) so there is no technical reason for mods to not work except user error.

I hope you realise i'm not that damn stupid, i deleted BeamNG from my comp installed the steam verson and then redownloaded all the mods i wanted (to clean out the ones i didn't) and put them into my steam folders where the mods should go in the game install. if i was that stupid i give you permission to slap me. However i've put all the mods cars and levels in there respective folders and they are showing up in the browser ingame However they don't do anything. the maps put up about 100 errors before loading the level and then it's only a compltely void space or if i change to a Mod car then nothing happens just my cam sits there and does nothing untill i switch back to a default car. so once again to the OP This Shit Isn't Working.

Very odd maybe verify integrity of the game cache. I've had mod errors prior to steam that required me to run the updater to fix them.

I've also had no problems, copied my levels/vehicles folder from old BeamNG to Steam directory location, all worked fine.

Sounds to me like you have either a) inadvertently renamed the mods folder when extracting the zip, many archiving tools will do this and it can cause both of these issues or b) inadvertently placed a folder inside a folder when extracting.

Lets take the example of the hatch vehicle already in game.
Some archiving tools when extracting hatch.zip will extract it to hatch_extracted, this is wrong.
Others what they might do is in the vehicles folder create a folder called hatch, inside this folder will be another folder also called hatch and inside that folder it will have all the models, textures and Jbeams. This is wrong, it should just be hatch then the files, not hatch then hatch then files.

In no way does that mean the 2 issues I just mentioned aren't at fault.

Try and install the exerimental branch, maybe that will help.
I've had more problems with the stable than with the experimental. Just saying.

dude just so you know. i had the same problem and here is how i fixed it. first of all, i realized i did something very stupid. well, it's not really that stupid but still, breaks the game.

what i did was (probably you did too): i unzipped the car. ****renamed the car folder to my liking (stupid part)***. and then copied it to the vehicles folder. this causes the folder name to 'not match' the contents of the folder. you must not touch the default name of the folder that you unzip. meaning; let's say the contents of the folder are named like:
    LincolnTowncar.stuff
    LincolnTowncar.bat
    LincolnTowncar.bull
    LincolnTowncar.yoyo
    LincolnTowncar.bobo

if you change the folder's name to anything other than LincolnTowncar, the game will not load it because it doesn't register it. it doesn't see the car's contents. because it's now looking for the new name you put there. so if the car is called LincolnTowncar, there is nothing you can change it to. you can't make it Lincoln Towncar or LT or LincolnnnTTTooowwnnncaaarr or so on. i hope i was able to explain it. sorry english is not my native language. don't change the folder's name. that's it.

I FOUND IT!!! The mods you have installed don't have DAE files. I stumbled across this when I was trying to figure out why the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG mod wouldn't work, and I compared it to the folder of a mod that did work (the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG). I noticed that the S65 folder didn't have a DAE file, so I copied the mSLS.DAE file to the S65 folder and started the game, and when I tried to spawn in an S65, it spawned me an SLS. The DAE files are the vehicle models.

Mercedes S65 WITH the mSLS.DAE file
    Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG With the mSLS.DAE File.jpg

Mercedes S65 WITHOUT the mSLS.DAE file
    Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Without the mSLS.DAE File.jpg

Until this is fixed, here is a list of some good mods that WILL work and the links to get them:

    BMW M5

    Ferrari 599 GTO 2011

    FIAT 500 Abarth

    Ford GT 2005

    Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

    Nissan GTR

    Opel Astra H

    Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster 2009

    Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2011
