I love the City of Los Injuros map but it appears to be more resource heavy than many maps. I have a Lenovo M91P with a GT 1050 ti graphics card. BeamNG graphics are set to normal. What are the best BIOS, Windows performance, and BeamNG settings to make this map the smoothest? I love it.
Is that a laptop ? Also, how much ram do you have ? That's the best thing to do to improve the performance on this map. Also look at what speed it is max rated at, then check your bios and see what speed it says it's at. If it's at a lower speed than the rated speed, look for a ram speed setting and increase it to the max rated speed. But the best thing to do would be to add more ram. As for beamng settings, apart from lowering them, I don't really know anything that do a big difference, apart maybe from the grass density setting.
Much appreciated. BeamNG is now set in task manager to have high priority. This lagging does seem to be RAM-related though. Frame rate is 35-50 FPS until it has to load a new area, then drops under 20 FPS. This is a mid tower desktop. Currently has 12GB RAM. The computer is using around 10GB with this map running, the highest amt of several other maps I checked. Grass density has been lowered as well.
Try to lower mesh quality too, these mass-affecting settings should improve your performance. Also, once your game lags to 20fps, check in task manager what is used the most: if it's the gpu, then lower shadows/lighting/shader settings. If it's the ram, lower texture quality/grass density/mesh quality. The best thing to do would still to increase the ram.
Perfect suggestion - monitoring the lagging map with task manager shows directly correlating RAM usage spikes. Merry Christmas to me, let's get new RAM lol Good to know about the graphics setting workaround you mentioned. Thank you
If those are spikes it might be a memory leak from the game, the devs are working on it. Anyways ram is good.
There's a problem with the UI, it uses more ram than it should. for the ram i don't know, I presume you got 3x4 gb, add another one, if it is worse i don't think it's much worse than 2x8 gb. I'm no computer expert though.
