I got 4:58:391 in a stock FR17

 

Finally! I was wondering when someone would go for the FR17. Nice lap

 

It is pure aids, haha. This happend in my latest 2 attempts of beating 4:58

 

How did you tune the SBR4 RWD, did you only remove the front&center diff without tuning anyting else?

Vehicle: Civetta Bolide 320 GTR Group 5 (Vanilla - Custom Config)

I had a faster time before this run but I didn't get to record it, so I am submitting my second fastest time.
The Group 5 variant was changed only through tuning to the gearing, alignment and suspension. Engine settings (turbo, RPM limit, etc) are left untouched.

 

Oof XD. Good thing you switched cars though. If I remember correctly, pink banded tires are ultra softs, and so give a considerably better lap time

No. A lot of suspension tuning had to be done as well. I can send you a config if you'd like to see it.

The video that you posted is unavailable. Perhaps viewing permissions are not set correctly (i.e. set to private)?

 

Found the culprit, I believed in ABS reducing braking distance, which is a total lie. Without ABS I can easily get under 7 mins.

I guess I'll just stick to BeamNG original tuning and practice my driving first

 

went for the obligatory
H15 Vanster (93-05) with I6, 5 speed manual, weight reduction (door panels/AC+radio/spare tire removed) and high end early body parts
done on gamepad+i don't know the track very well, probably gonna see how much time i can carve out when i get back to my wheel because there's def a lot of time

That's weird. I used ABS for all my runs with the SBR4. I know it does glitch out sometimes when turning and braking though.

No, even on tarmac, leveled(not bumpy) ground, ABS still does increase braking distance. Interestingly, the brake pressure on the vanilla SBR4 Hillclimb is very good, unlike some vehicles has brake lockup in 60% brake pedal input.
