So, was playing the game today, and was messing around with some levels, and completely out of the blue, FPS just slowly starts decreasing, along with CPU usage, GPU usage and so on, from which the game goes from 60+FPS at 1440P Ultra down to a stuttery mess of 4-7fps, completely randomly, this has happened to me twice now, specifically when using above 5 AI vehicles, to which my PC is more then capable of.

Only records I have of it are images from afterburner as the problem doesn't seem easily replicated.

    Main PC Spec:

    CPU - Ryzen 7 3700X
    RAM - Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (2x8GB) 3600 MHz CL16
GPU - EVGA 980Ti Founders Edition

Oh, I also have a video of the last 30 seconds as it slowly drops and doesn't recover

Hi! I've had the same issue too!!! After awhile of playing BeamNG with 12 AI cars, I eventually get that same terrible stutter!! Normally get 55-70 fps with all this, but then the stutter starts, and I drop down to as low as 4 or even 1FPS. I screenshotted the debug, and it's getting a flood of errors, which seem to be related to sound in some sort. No mods being used. upload_2022-1-5_22-29-30.png

In case it may be important, my specs are:
    Intel I7 10700K 5.3GHZ core, 4.5ghz cache
Corsair Vengeance 3600 OCed to 4400MHZ
    GTX 1660 Super +110 Core +800 Memory
Overclock has been tested and is stable.

(OMG just realized I still have my specs posted from my really really old builds, back when those were my actual current builds. It's been a decent while since I last logged in here.)

I'm having the exact same problem too, the game will run fine but after a few minutes the frames will crash down and the sounds become distorted. It never did this before the recent update, and my PC is more than powerful enough to run plenty of cars.

The only things i did with the AI were spawn police and traffic, and constantly run from police, and crashing into police and traffic cars. Also, I thought maybe it could have possibly been that the setting for number of voices maybe was too high for my hardware, but I lowered that from 512 back to 256, to no avail.

Yepp that is my problem as well. I set up 10-14 cars to be driven by the AI. 10-15 minutes in it starts with missing sound effects (crash sounds) then the lagg starts.
Have you tried setting up the traffic and police stuff, then try hiding the UI, it make it take a bit longer before the lagg starts.

    Any updates on this?
Same 'sound' related spam in the console as posted above.

This is definitely something related to the sound engine, which hams up the game engine, causing CPU and GPU use both to drop as it's waiting for the sound engine.
Don't know at this rate if it's related to the map you're in as-per sound environments (e.g. tunnels) and such, but I will be looking into this seeing if it's specific to map environments or variables.
Gotta love pre-release games :) Cutting edge is great, until someone needs a Band-Aid.

Edit: To me it looks like the game's sound engine was updated, but an in-game or modded asset was not, and it's tying up the game (and a whole lot of RAM) looking for it, and drowning in that process eventually as the main game-engine needs to sync (ticks they're called) with the sound engine before you get the frame back for display.

Yes it must be a big part of it. But it do not happen if you stay away from the AI stuff.
