Update Speculation thread

okay im just speculating, but i bet they will add a minivan in the next few updates, i aslo hope they add a modern truck at some point like a 2gen of the d-series, that would neat!! and maybe a map based on like canada or something

as far as actual evidence goes for what a new car could be:

-there's the modern burnside logo on the banner in utah, (though that could have been a vague plan for what the bastion became)

-the bastion's engines are located in the common folder, and the V6 engine has a lot of performance parts that go unused, such as the superchargers, so we could see another modern bruckell/soliad with longitudinal engines, which relies more heavily on the V6.
perhaps something along the lines of a corvette/viper?

-the current pessimas have been officially labeled as the "VM301" and "VM501", implying that there is in fact, a separate "VM401" generation between them. (for gameplay reasons, it's unlikely we will ever get this gen, as it would be too similar to the existing ones.

-the Bastion and remastered bolide both got interior police equipment, and revamped lightbar meshes are also in the gamefiles, suggesting there is a plan to remaster the police cars.
interestingly, despite being completed only a few weeks prior, neither the H-series, nor the remastered gen 5 pessima have the police equipment, suggesting it was a fairly recently initiated plan.

please inform me of any other relevant evidence you have, and I'll add it to the list.

maybe like what i was saying a couple of posts back with the new burnside suv even though its called [roamer]

 

I predict the next update will bring an overhaul to the police vehicles alongside the second part of the grand marshal remaster. The bastion and bolide received police interiors in the last update (which I doubt are intended to be the only vehicles with them), and there are unused remastered versions of the police lightbars in the files, which likely hints at the police vehicles getting some attention in the future. The grand marshal has yet to see it's phase 2 remaster, and given it's a body on frame american fullsize sedan and the original police vehicle in beam, I could definitely see it being remastered alongside the police car improvements.

 

On topic of the vehicles being remastered, I think the Hirochi Sunburst, or Ibishu 200bx is going to be remastered next, or maybe both of them combined to be remastered in one update. Also thinking that the Covet is due for another remaster following the reshaping of the car back in 2019. 80s pessima might be remastered after these.

 

I think the Moonhawk and/or 200BX are more likely, the Sunburst still looks ok overall and has a good amount of content

 

I really hope on Covet, I-Series and GM Version

can you bring any specific reasons or evidence as to which one is most likely to be immediately next though?

we can endlessly fill pages with rambling about which one we think is going to be done next purely by it being in a shortlist of the worst quality, but they clearly don't explicitly follow that, otherwise the bolide, covet, and grand marshal would have been done way earlier.

 

moonhawk would be next because it has the smallest amount of content for any car in the game
yes it has less content than the covet (i think don't fact check that)

 

At this point, just lock the thread until the next teaser comes out from Twitter. We already get 3 revamped cars and 1 new car. What could you ask for?

 

That and there's so much more new content that could go out in the next update(moonhawk,police,200BX) we just need it to be narrowed down, and for that reason it would be best if we all wait.

What i hope for is more real-class race configs to be added. Lately we got the Pessima touring car and the bolide group 5 and 4. If the moonhawk get remastered next update, there could an old nascar config, kind of like that:

If the Sunburst get remastered, i really hope for a more thought-out rally config than the one we have currrently, most importantly lighter as the current one weighs around 1500kg. Kind of like the vivace.

If the 200bx get remastered, there are a lot of options, but a formula drift config would be a nice match with the car.

If the SBR4 get remastered, (which is unlikely considering it's pretty high quality compared to the cars mentioned above), something like a Super Gt or GT3 config would be very nice. I think it's the car that is the most adapted to this role, too.

 

Anyone got the date-prediction for the next update? I mean this excel file, as always

I’d believe that. Considering the fact that I think career mode is coming pretty soon, they probably want better, more police cars because I bet police will be a big part of career. Cars like the covet and SBR4 could get police variants for early and late game respectively.

We could see some more tuning house variants for some cars, like a liberty walk esque sbr4, a varis one for the sunburst, and PLENTY of them for the 200bx. Considering there will be the v8 swap for the 200bx, I expect multiple drift variants, one with the stock engine, one with a v8, maybe even one with an i6

 

That's a good idea, something like a drift missile config and a proper Formula Drift config
