I've been playing around with the remastered Bolide and im starting to dislike the lack of interior sound when driving the targa models, is there a way i can remove the interior sound filter on specific models? I know how to remove it for all cars but i only want to affect the convertibles. Thanks in Advance!
Hi -if this were possible, we'd already be doing it - it's been an annoyance of mine for years. Because the filter is currently "hard coded", we won't do a simple hack to do this. Once we have the ray-tracing system, which is in itself a huge task for a product like Beam, we will then be able to use this to determine whether vehicles have roofs etc.
Out of curiosity, how does the game currently detect if the camera is in the interior? Based on a distance from the driver camera node?
OK, it is based on the distance from the camera to the driver camera node... but I don't have any more info right now.
Mmm, yeah, reading my first reply, I typed incorrectly. It IS hard coded really. I'll edit that. Normally if I say "hard coded" I mean that It's part of the core game system- not something which is set via jbeam etc.
Ahhh this makes more sense to me, I was thinking there was a line of code I could remove or replace, well I appreciate the response and I love the work yall have been doing. Excited to see it come together.
Thank you for saying so We will fix this, aside from our engine audio generally, this is my no.1 audio issue - we just need to wait for the planned ray tracing system which we can then use to identify internal structures, and the internal volume of those structures, in real time.
How far along is the audio ray tracing system? I remember hearing a great deal about it a while back, but I have heard rarely a peep sense
