would love to help, but since i dont have access to my pc right now, i will not be able to do much. you could look into the other cars that were updated as well, such as the H series remasters, the Pessima, and even the bolide
Oh yeah right, i forgot about the bolide, yes yes ill make it for those too. Also for the bastion headlights, should the left side be angled slightly lower or should they be the same level?
As I understand the "driver's side" is always slightly lower, so as not to dazzle oncoming traffic. But I think it looks great as is now. Just need the high beams and fogs as well. Makes the car look and feel even more modern as well!
Yes, for the highbeams i will make them brighter and ill make the foglamps too. For the bolide ill probably use the beam patterns from the pessima or simillar cars. Also thank you for the help
Ok, so I got the highbeams to work and the foglamps on all bastion bumpers to work. After doing all of it, I can say I kinda get how things work now and soon ill make the beams for the bolide. But for now, here is a working version for the bastion.
Well, mostly because it is painful to set correct position for lights. Second it is rather heavy for the game engine in comparison to simple lightcones like we have in game. Finally FOV affect lightcones so if someone would drive on 90 FOV these lights are ridiculous small or on 60 FOV are enormous. So this is the reason why. Doesn't make sense put effort into something that base things are broken.
Ok so Bastion is now finally complete and worthy as a default car for me. Looks sleek! Many thanks man.
I will start working on the bolide soon (or now), also Im gonna lower down the bastions left side headlight so its more realistic.
I agree, just to get the positions for the bastion, just 1 car, took me about 200 tries. But I never tried modding or anything so I guess that was the biggest factor
Actually, left and right headlight beam pattern is the same and they are aimed exact same height. The reason why people think left one is aimed lower is the shape of the beam and not alligment. Sorry I nerded this, but I just wanted to explain. Attached you can see correctly aimed headlights and its beam patterns. -Fabio
as a fellow nerd, i agree, (i live in a right hand drive country, so its the opposite) the left beam has more spread on the bottom compared to the right beam, and the cutoff pattern is also slightly different on both beams
I also live in a rhd country, I have tried quite a few cars (being the passenger) and from what I see is that when there is both a projector and a reflector housing or just a reflector housing, the pattern will be like the sunburst (or the ece beam pattern) although the projector headlights give a cleaner cutoff. For the projector lights, they are the dot pattern. Also I really should start working on the bolide.
It is roughly like that, yes. Here is the link How to aim your headlights. Hope it helps: How to Aim Headlights – Driving Lights or High Beam Only Headlights (jwspeaker.com) -Fabio
Yep I stand corrected. I just know I had the perception of driver side lower. South African here. RHD country as well. Thanks for the insight.
yes, so basically I got a bit bored of beamng and took like 2 days off beamng, anyways now im gonna continue on with beamng and the bolide
ah, do it at your own pace, no hurry, as yea, this mod needs quite a bit of effort things a friend of mine noticed Pessima Tuner headlights need it, since it doesnt work properly, along with the pessima fogs the bolide and H series apparently dont have any beams (expected, since theyve been remastered recently)
alright got it, ill work on the bolide first, was a bit confused as the file wasnt named "bolide" but its "super" --- Post updated --- Quick update, got the bolide pop up healight beams to work. Now just need to do the foglamps and the turbo headlights.
