The sounds in beamng are fantastic as is, but there are times where they just fall flat Imagine if in first person you could hear the gear shifting sounds, keys jangling on hard turns, little sounds like the pedals making a sound when floored. Or even, if you could hear traffic blocks away in Belasco, or sounds of engines revving and crowds cheering on hirochi raceway. IMO it would immerse the player much more, adding small details to the game that only further the game's audio.
I agree for most of that, apart from the sounds in hirochi raceway because it would just feel off since there's no crowds and no other cars than us on track, unless you spawned AI, then they will rev their engines anyways.
Thanks for the feedback. Gear shifting is something Seb is looking in to. I like the idea of stomping on the throttle too. Not sure about keys jangling, but we do need more generic cabin rattles and noises - we had an initial discussion about this recently and will start having a look soon I think.
Would ignition beeps/chimes count? It feels strange to start up the Sunburst, an early 2010s Japanese econobox, without hearing an annoying and tinny beep. Toyotas of the time period would be a great jumping-off point for that car.
generic cabin rattles are one of the things i think would make driving in interior view way more immersive right now, just the suspension noise is all we can here as far as NVH, apart from the wind and engine sounds
Yep agreed... although getting the cabin interior muffling sounding right, depending on deadening, windows open/broken, roofless is the biggie for me... which we're waiting for the tech to do that.
speaking of roofless, is it just me, or is there a slight difference in interior sound muffling in the Normal vs the Targa version of the bolide?
Nothing in terms of deliberately different... but if there are different settings for the eng/exh etc in the jbeams then those differences would be heard internally too.
you should add ETK I Series coupe, add anti-lag, rework headlights (can't see nothing at night and add ability to refuel cars (like it's done in "gravity fuel" mission) and add ability to give ai drivers tickets, for breaking traffic rules and 2-door vivace
*OK DEV MAN, Add this, this this this this this and this, oh also this and this, thx byeeeeee* (this is sarcasm) --- Post updated --- also, another thing that would need to be done is, probably wear and tear noises, like, 2 different soundscapes i guess, im not sure how to explain it, a new interior for eg. doesnt have a lot of rattles, compared to an older, pretty worn interiors... god this can get too complicated too fast
Exactly - we are looking at age and overall damage to a vehicle as part of how internal rattle/movement audio would work.
posts merged for some dumb reason. Idea: Have a Slider in the Vehicle Selector that selects how old/worn the car is, so, maybe even i career mode, if you need older, high mileage cars that are pretty worn out, vs like how they were when new Eg. Selects Covet ZX Chooses Colour, etc Moves slider (Start of production year - XX.XX.XXXX), which then, would select the soundscape (whatever its called, im not quite sure) Then Spawn the car.. Would work well with old derby spec vehicles, or Beater configs
