WIP Beta released Advanced Island

    This is a huge island (about 4 km²) with a small city, many modern buildings, seaport, factory, airport (not started yet), racing track (not started yet) and a radiotelescope on the top of the mountain. At this moment only a few places a in their final stage, most of places are in early alpha stage or even not started.
    For this terrain I have took some meshes from Riverside Expressway made by B25Mitch.I want to say GREAT THANKS to him;). Also I made several meshes with collision mesh and LODs (Lighthouse, Traffic border, Electric Substation, Business building and Apartment building). For generating city roads I have made special software, that lets You generate roads from blocks (like You can do in Trackmania). This software is in very early alpha stage, but using it was even more fun than I was expecting (You can create a big city roads with traffic lights, benches, bins, lights, etc. in several minutes).

    Looks nice :)

    I should have mentioned earlier that everyone has permission to use models from the Riverside Expressway map in their own mods.

    One recommendation I would make is to shrink the scale of the normal map on the road. It looks quite bumpy at the moment.

    The intersection texturing looks fantastic.

    Thank You very much! I will decrease normal map scale.

    Thank's once again ))) It is because all city streets made from blocks 50 x 50 meters. This blocks placesed in programm that I developed (like You do in Trackmania editor), and this programm place files in beamng levels folder and changed *.mis file. I am going to release this software also, if people will be interested in it. So everything is done automatically with absolute precision. But at first I think I need to add more different blocks to this programm.

    Wow... that's a very nice looking map. It looks like you have lots done already, but if most parts have only been started or not even... then this map will be huge, and awesome! :) Greatly looking forward to the release.

    EDIT: Also, I forgot to say one thing. The view from the top of the mountain with the telescope... It's an awesome viewpoint. :D And that dirt road to the top looks fun. All the finished roads look beautiful too... So much detail, even crosswalks. :) Looks like it'll be a map suitable for some scenic drives as well!

    Thanks for all for a positive feedback)))))))))))))
    I have released pre-pre-alpha. There are some roads for a fun drive, but other roads are not in their final stage. One of the problem of game editor is that You need to spend a lot of time to make a road smooth enouth for a speed over 150 kph.

    My real name is on the first screenshot. It is Andrew Kuzmin (Андрей Кузьмин in original language).
    The nick, that I use, my coworkers gave me several years ago because I play CS:Source well, and always on the terrorist side. I like thier 4-4 and 4-5 weapons)))))))))))))) We used to play CS:Source on the lunch break)))))))) I don't know why You asking, but I think this is enough info)))))

    I like it. Lots of room for expansion and the roads really have a natural flow about them. Hell the whole map has a natural feel to it.

    Nice view from the lighthouse.

    Need to point out there is a chuck of guardrail floating in the sky and some of the road transitions ripped the front end off my car. My insurance agent will be in touch.

    Oh yeah, this would be a perfect map for an airport or a helipad up by the satellite dish.

    The ground under asphalt decal roads should be painted with a ground material called Asphalt. It doesn't have to look like asphalt, but that gives it the right grip, sounds and particles.

    If you want the map to have a realistic feel, try to avoid roads with so many steep hills and sharp corners. Even the four lane highway bridge is so steep I could barely climb it with a loaded truck in crawler gear.

    Oh, thank You very much, I forgot about that guardrails. Do You mean road transitions from decal roads to city road blocks? If "Yes" then, I mentioned that You need to drive carefully in this places, because decal roads and city blocks have different heigth. If "No" screenshot this place please and I will fix it;) Thanks in advance!

    Thanks, I will paint terrain under the decal roads with correct material. This is my first map, so I didn't know that. And about "four lane highway bridge", I will remake it. It will be as smooth as city road blocks, I think they are smooth enough)

    Love blasting from the spawn point down the road, over the crossroads, great fun in a Covet. Not even looked at any part of the map yet lol

    Why is the road throwing up dust though? Is it because its not the correct surface like someone else has mentioned?

    Thank You for screenshot)))) I think for the first time rising of the terrain can make this transition more smooth and don't cause damage for a car. But later I am going to completely remake this transition.

    This is a really awesome map I love how big it is and the room the forest also looks good. I also like the lighthouse there is great job.

    Also I had made house that fit slopes. It have different version and can be placed several times near each other without boring look.
