when you crash a car hard enough on the side or on the rear trunk area the roll cage or some of the chassis shows do you plan on fixing this?
I know so many people have already talked about the fact that the car can blowover, but my god this one feature makes this mod one of the greatest mods created for BeamNG Drive. The physics of this stock car is outstanding, the car doesn't catch to much air on initial spin, but if the car is hit whilst spinning or backwards the car will be prompted into the air causing it to blowover. WHICH IS EXACTLY HOW IT IS IN REAL LIFE, just focusing on physics alone this is one of the best mods to have showcased aerodynamics and physics. And I'm sure all of you already know, BeamNG Drives aerodynamics is not an easy thing to work with. And this is just the blowovers there is so much more to this mod that makes it even more incredible. So major round of applause to Solar and team, for making a well designed hand crafted mod, that had a ton of care and attention to detail put into this mod. The many months of work must've been tiring, but you should be proud of the mod you guys made. Here are some of the blowovers I was able to do with this mod, and I had so much fun making them.
if you look at the onboard camera you can see how theres almost no space between the body and the wheel
i love how when you hit the car at an angle the car doesnt just shrink into the engine like the latemodel stock car it actually deforms
Random things on your mod I want to note: Power figures seem to be all over the place. Shouldn't it be doing about 550 or 750 HP depending on how the engine is set up? Forgot the actual figures since yesterday but it's doing around 800-something normally and 600-something restricted.. Those figures may not be exact in real life testing but it probably wouldn't measure to the specs that yours does. — And speaking of restrictions, why does the car still do well over 200 miles per hour with the plate? It's nonsensical.. I imagine in proper form it should stall acceleration around 185 miles per hour without a draft. The advanced/non-keyboard setups still have anti-lock brakes in the rear. Woops? Speaking of which, pretty weird to make the ABS a different type of brake rather than having an Anti-Lock Braking System part like any other vehicle. The tire grip has to be excessively high, no way it isn't. At the imported Talladega map at least, it's impossible to lose traction and spin out at speed. Kinda frustrating when that's what you're trying to do lol. Might need to double check this on a different map later. Braking seems to be way too good as well. Need to test this more later but it stop a bit too well and quick and doesn't lock up the wheels as easy as it probably should. No hood or roof flaps? Didn't seem to have any functioning ones last time I was throwing it around. Do hope it will be added later, but seems weird to leave it out. The 2FR version has them and they function just fine, but that's about the only thing it has going for it. Interior seems underscaled. Steering wheel is made for microorganisms. That's all for the feedback I can remember for this. Better than the highly janky 2Fast Racing version, but the two are a ying-yang of weird stuff holding it back from being at its best. God bless.
The talladega port from nascar 2004 says it uses the drag strip road material, which is a lot more grippy than the normal one.
I suspected that the Talladega port was off in grip properties lol.. Good to know so that I could test it on a more regular surface whenever I can get on my computer. Still believe the restrictor plate version being way too fast is still an issue though.
while solar’s doing the flaps and all, obviously need to have tethers on the flaps make them fly off if you’re spinning out too fast or something like it more detailed packages, like the superspeedway package. the rear has a lip at the bottom and the rear spoiler is a bit taller, the large spoiler goes to the intermediate setups and the smaller one stays, because that one’s correct --- Post updated --- hood flaps, fly off, not roof flaps
The engine is based on the 2018 package, which is why it makes 850 instead of 750 and 550. Also, back then, 200+ mph was very common at Talladega with the restrictor plate package. Because of BeamNG's lack of an aerodynamics system advanced enough for drafting, I had to test some drag values in order get the vehicle fast enough. As for the anti-lock brakes, it's weird but when I tried to use the separate slot for anti-lock activation, only the front brakes would be anti-lock. Frustrating, but that's how it happened. It being on the setups, but only on the rear, was not of my doing, that's just how I was given the setups. The roof and hood flaps are planned, I just had some issues getting the mesh ready for it, so that wasn't included in the initial release. That's likely happening in the first update. If the interior is underscaled, then I'll try some stuff out to fix it. Thanks for your feedback, I'll see if those can be fixed.
