Please stop putting useless stuff in this thread. It's annoying to read, and it always turns into a cesspool. Anyway, found some more information about this car. Apparently, a version with a Renault 1.4 was developed, but cancelled after 6 were made. A 1.6 L four-banger was developed with four cycles, but it was cancelled as well. Saab took the engine and put it in the Ursaab. Probably the most obvious quirk of the car is that both models had a freewheel device, meaning you could coast. Not many of them had radios because of how loud this car was.
the freewheel device exists in the trabant also, shared parts among 353 and trabi --- Post updated --- also isn't the Wartburg made by VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau and not IFA?
I'd definitely love to see more Soviet vehicles mods. Some old communist truck (Such as the IFA W50 or ZiL 130/131), for example, would fill quite a lot of gaps...
at the time it wasnt bad later in the 80's and 90's it was a joke car in poland like the "1 $ car" myth was actually true in the 2000's when the 2 stroke cars (and pretty much every other old 70/80's car) wasn't worth a dollar.
This will look cool lined up with Trapez, Autobello Seicento that one guy makes and Fait One remaster (that i will be hopefully making)
thats great, but nobody asked if everyone would read the posting guidelines above the text box, this forum would be so much better. ot: the wartburg's radiator was mounted behind the engine until '85, when it got mounted where it should be, in the front. lots of fake leather and corduroy in the s and de luxe trim.
Neither IFA nor Wartburg is a registered copyright for cars in Germany. (just general speaking after this, not directed towards anyone in particular) It is annoying to scroll through people trying to ask for mods, and even worse when this basically becomes general discussion. please stop thank you
I would tend to disagree based on the trademark search I did IFA wartburg came back as trademarked under cars, clothing and other items and also has an active dispute against it meaning at least two corporations or individuals are claiming to own it(IFA london was the current holder). I personally wouldn't allow it on the repo under such conditions but its not my decision and Bng I am pretty sure would have a legal representative they could talk to about it to guide them. Perhaps the weirdest list of items to be trademarked but given a lot of car manufacturers make all that stuff its not out of the ordinary.
