So, gas prices are insane right now and show no signs of dropping. I'm seeing a bunch of posts on the r/BeamNG reddit about BeamNG gas prices. Well, that's not realistic. If this game is going to be as realistic as possible, gas prices should be dynamic and based on real world data. So let's say on East Coast USA, right now the gas prices are $2.73, but in real life has prices are much higher, closer to $4.50 in my area(which is very much east coast). This is needlessly unrealistic. The game should be looking up average gas prices and displaying the real world averages on the gas stations. I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, and it may also work to simply adjust the gas prices every update.
What purpose would it serve though? Currently there is no money nor any filling up mechanics (save for a mod) in the game, its would be a pointless waste of dev time
I didn't realize this. That would make sense in terms of gas prices but then why would traffic spawn modern cars? As far as I know it does spawn new models regardless of map. Time travel maybe?
tbf i doubt it's set in a particular age, it's more probably just a city today. As for the idea itself, it's good but a bit pointless if you ask me, especially since gas stations don't serve a purpose. But once they do in carreer mode, that would be pretty interesting.
