the option of making a colors mod that would not overwrite official BeamNG car colors

    It would be cool to add new colors to official cars without overwriting game files

    i meant adding colors as a mod to "Factory" collection, it would be nice option for someone who makes "expansion pack" for vanilla cars.

    Could you explain what exactly do you mean? You just have to move the circle on the colour picker in the Color tab & you can save the colour to your own "collection" which then can be applied to any vehicle

    do you mean custom colour presets? these can be made when you select a custom colour, just hit ctrl+w, then select the colour tab, the rest is pretty straightforward

    usually people just upload the color code id if they want to share it

    This is entirely possible and quite easy actually. In the vanilla files copy the desired cars’ info.json to your unpacked mod folder and copy-paste a colour, then change the colour values. Be aware that this process overwrites the original cars info file, but this should be fine if you do everything correctly. If you want to get rid of your custom colour, delete the mods files from the unpacked folder. Hope this helps you :)
