These points that these people are making are exactly why I brought up the whole "trust" thing. Yeah, you put a lot of hours into this mod, but so does everyone else who makes mods for this game. So that isn't really that much of a factor, to be honest. And as people have pointed out, the quality is good, but it's probably not exactly good enough to justify a payment, regardless of how much effort you actually put into it.

People here hardly know you. Randomly releasing a mod that is decent at best in quality and charging for it (especially with a channel subscription and not a one-time purchase) is skeptical as hell. As others have pointed out, there are plenty of cases of people who have paid for mods and would either send the money and not get the mod in return, or would get sent a virus. While we may know that's not the case with you now, there was no real way of knowing beforehand. Because again, people hardly know you. And that's why trust is such an important factor here. That's why people make so many free mods and then do paid stuff on the side. Because they're trusted enough and they've made enough mods to show people what to expect from the mods they make, so their paid stuff actually starts to make more sense.

I agree, I think it would be more tolerable if a different option than Youtube membership was chosen and some sort of demo version was released

Demo version could have only the stock config without turbo and race, only stock frame and engine with no turbo option, no Stig, no wheelie and no special AI LUA. But that's still most of the mod since it doesn't have much variety.

I don't understand why I should have done a so much complicated mod actually working (do we agree that it was actually driving in BeamNG in mine and Neilogical videos?) to steal 5Euro to people and not send them files, or send virus. With which aim? to be banned forever? I have sold about 20 as of now and none has yet complained. They could do it here, I cannot delete their comments!

If you want I can share a demo version that does not steers and drops in one meter, do you want it? Because the steering is the value added here. If I deliver the stock version for free, that is the actual core of development. It's a joke then to add a turbo or add a Stig! The reason why there are no working bikes in BeamNG is the steering algorithm. Go and take the free Ducati FCR 900 or the Suzuki 750 by Darren9 and see how much you can drive them.... The only working bikes are the SmashChan ones, and they are private since years.

And about membership, I stated in the description that no renewal is needed. One can cancel at anytime. The reason why I am using YT is because membership increases overall gains on the channel that is monetized.

I am posting a new video to show the handling of the bike in the next days. Then I will work on the spiking wheels, trying to avoid them. Besides that the bike is completed to me, and I will move on another one, a Dirt Bike, I already have the 3D model and I am in the chopping phase (tank, forks, ammos...). It will take once again weeks because in the end the jbeam structure needs to be started almost from scratch, the frame is totally different and there will be rear suspension this time.

If I get enough money from these projects I will buy a MotoGP 3D model, for a new delivery. These are my projects

In terms of motorcycle mods for BeamNG, very few exist due to the complexity of implementing them, as far as I'm aware of. The first few examples from 2014 are low-effort mesh-slaps that do not drive, handle, or crash like actual motorcycles. It wouldn't be until 2017 when Darren9 made his DH Sport Bike mod, proving that it can be done. Then in 2020, CRGZ made a Yamaha YZF-R6 sport bike; ditto for Nekkit's Suzuki GSX-R750 (which was apparently leaked, but that discussion is for another time). And aside from those BeamNG crash compilation videos with private motorcycle mods on YouTube, one has very few options to use a motorcycle in BeamNG, until this American Chopper mod on this thread was recently revealed.

Generally speaking, paid BeamNG mods have become a subject of debate within the community. Some are in favor of such mods as means of supporting the modder, while others oppose the idea since it would limit the number of people using them. And yet a few fall in between or are generally neutral, myself included. Honestly, the reason why you have been receiving some backlash is likely due to the fact that you are relatively new to the modding scene, compared to other experienced and talented modders. Consequently, some people are upset to learn that your first mod isn't even free.

That being said, however, I am inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt. Looking at the videos on YouTube, this motorcycle mod seems promising. You clearly showed that you spent time, effort, and dedication into making it. Thus, I may consider purchasing a monthly membership subscription to your YouTube channel as I have the means of paying for it, even if I prefer using platforms such as Patreon or Buy Me a Coffee instead. The fact that one gets lifetime access to updates should be enough to justify the purchase.

Regardless of the overall outcome, I do wish you the best :)

Thank you! some kind words make my day :)
I understand every point of view: obviously one cannot trust strangers unless he's is a kind of ascetic or angel :D, but my main problem is time. I don't have enough, I a job and a family, so this is a kind of hobby in the stolen time to family and I try to re-invest money in 3D models on which I am not very good / it takes too much to make a very nice 3D model. I am better and faster at coding since I am a SW developer, so I am more comfortable with jbeams and lua.
Then I will not have enough time to deliver hundreds of free mods, I don't even have so much 3D models! If anyone does not agree I can understand them, but please don't insist or insult. I won't change this delivery approach. There are plenty of free mods you can enjoy and yes, there is YZF-R6 free mod from CRGZ if you want to ride a bike.

I will continue posting updates of the bike and start with the Dirt Bike, for members that want to contribute. So far I reached a small amount of them and I am taking care of each. And I recall that membership is not requested to be renewed! I have a mailing list of one-time-members and I will send things to all of them.

I have updated the first post with a new video to show the steering alogrithm. Everyone with a cheap steering wheel and bit of patience and practice can do the same journeys.

I have also updated the revision history. Next release will have fix on the autoshift that was not working properly on race model and a new Tuning slider to increase the soldering resistance, since someone complained that the parts detach too easily, now one can decide on his own. I am waiting to deliver this 3.0 because I hope to fix those damned pressureWheels to spike in the sky in tough accidents!

Some people may turn a blind eye regarding the following statement I have typed and posted. Do hear me out for once though, if anyone wants to know some more information about the American Chopper mod. Hopefully, after reading this, more people might consider supporting TonyCartony and his works.

As you can see, I recently purchased a monthly subscription to his YouTube channel. I implied this in my last message on this thread after deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt. Talking to TonyCartony via email reveals that he's a friendly, honest, and open person. Whatever questions or comments I had, he responded to them ASAP; that's the type of person I prefer working with if you ask me.

Now onto the bike mod itself. Sure, Neilogical and Camodo Gaming have crashed it more often than riding in their video reviews, but I have had no issues when I used it. Part of that reason may be due to my past experiences with motorcycles in the real world, so I have the basic understandings of operating them. Long story short, the steering algorithm works as described, and riding the American Chopper is a fun experience when you get used to the controls. It isn't exactly perfect, but the updates do improve the overall experience.

Finally, to address the elephant in the room, 5 euros may seem a bit much, although I'd say otherwise. Not only do you get lifetime access to all future updates for the American Chopper mod akin to a few other paid forum mods, but said access also applies to everything TonyCartony makes. And he does make it clear that you don't even need to renew the channel membership to retain these perks. In other words, even if I don't plan to renew my membership (for the time being), I will still get access to future projects such as the dirt bike he is working on next.

In conclusion, consider giving TonyCartony a chance if you have the means of paying. Even though he's relatively new to the modding community and paid mods remain a controversial topic, the fact that he is open to any questions or comments, and delivers the expectations he has set should give an indication on where he stands today. That is all I have to say, thank you for taking the time to read this post :)

Well then I stand corrected. I thought it was a 5 euro a month subscription, but if it's simply a 1 time payment I'm not against it.

Thank you very much for these words baarry5444, I am happy you have trusted my bike, but the most satisfying thing is that you enjoy it! I have posted the 3.0 release notes in first post, and sent the update to all the members, hoping that the fun will be more! :)

Yes I am already working on the Dirt Bike, soon I will creat its own thread. About the Chopper I consider it completed for now. If I will have time after the Dirt Bike I will add RPM and tachometer

I would consider getting this at some point if it was on gumroad, the current way to get it seems a pain

The only difficulty is to remember to cancel membership before it renews. But you can do it as soon as you have downloaded the bike from the google drive link I share... I am not asking renewals

I was talking about the way you need to sign up to your channel (and dont forget about it before it starts taking 5 quid out your account forever) and then writing an email, its so much easier via gumroad, and you dont get scammed via google

I thought general views = money? Or is it just with members?
