New to the forum, and to everything Beamng related, so everything is here is going to be a learning experience for me, so please bear with me! Came across this whole thing on wecrash.com, I follow the site pretty closely because I am a huge demolition derby fan, so naturally a 'game' where you can crash a car caught my attention. I see huge potential in the physics and playability of Beamng, which is why i chose to support the developers! I hope this takes off and becomes a more popular, which it seems like it is. Long way to go though! In my little 'experiments' i found a few things to be frustrating, such as the vehicles getting stuck together after a big hit, the way the vehicles drive (slow and very hard to control from a keyboard), and spawning vehicles (getting stuck together, all the same color even when you change the color, and re-setting the spawn points). Otherwise, pretty cool and I can't wait to see where this all goes. I should note, I am not a computer whiz so most of my problems can probably be fixed, but sure cant figure stuff out! Anyway, just my 2 cents worth of opinion, maybe i'm missing the whole point, but there it is nonetheless.
I can Always count on you to appreciate my immature remarks. Hashtag: spelling out hipster, Hashtag, broke a year and 3 month sobriety. Won't happen again for quite some time
About the vehicles getting stuck into eachother Thats a bug/issue called clipping It probably is gonna get fixed or reduced at some point Besides its alpha The potential for this game in the future looks bright and good wait for the future of beamng
Since i was hovering over this thread i might say some kind words! This is the best, and most likely is going to be the best and most precise vehicle simulator in this world by far! I have seen nothing like it, and enjoy every little second i play it. I am closing up on a 100h already on the Steam version, and am looking forward to be spending a lot of more hours on this game!
I have been playing for a while now and i am still amazed by the stunning engine. I've always had something with crashing cars. I just love the way a car crashes and how it looks afterwards. I could spent hours playing race games (toca 2) back in the days and going the wrong way to crash in different ways. Maybe it all began about 20 years ago (when i was 10years old) when my favorite toys where the crash dummies: http://www.tomopop.com/toys-of-yesterday-the-incredible-crash-dummies-12806.phtml All that is the reason why i can spent hours again playing BeamNG Just like the old days crashing cars and doing it all over again. I like it a lot guys! Keep up the good work! Great engine and graphics! It makes me (30 year old) feel like a kid again
Got my first mesh import with collision and LOD done.... Just wondering if its the right place on the Map BeamNG has some important features i missed at Rigs of Rods so much. Great Work
Pros: Insane upgrade from rigs of rods Paid dedicated dev team Cons: Must buy now Have to use credit card
Having just gotten BeamNG yesterday, there is still a lot for me to learn. I find it hard to drive higher-performance cars (I'm looking at you, Civetta Bolide) with the keyboard, but then again, that leads to more crashing, which is the whole point of the game! I've been playing nearly nonstop. Best $20 ever spent.
Its actually meant to be a driving simulator rather than crash simulator, but each to his or her own. The higher performance cars really do need a gamepad bare minimum. A real car you wouldnt just slam the throttle to max and yank the steering wheel lock to lock, sadly that is all the keyboard allows.
Yes. But for any car. I have G27 Steering wheel and here it's a must to play, also it's even more fun to play with than Gran Turismo or other simulation titles. This "Boat Simulation" style physics (GTA IV) is much fun. First time i heard about it i downloaded some old version but i didn't have PC that could handle it. Had fun for few hours and then left it. Few days ago i decided to check out how's progress and Im very impressed. Im thinking of buying it as i have some money from holidays now. It amazes me that it's still ALPHA and already it's soo great. I'm going to buy it as soon as possible. Keep up the good work! Off-topic question but i wonder when cars like Ibishu Pessima or others from Official Showroom will find their place in game? I was checking out some mod cars but most of them was glitching or overall quality was bad. EDIT: Just bought the game. Im happy to be able to support you guys!
I just wanted to say this game is awesome!! And so is the BeamNG community. Ever since I laid eyes on it in the first trailer on YouTube I wanted it and ever since then it did not let me down once and it never will, there is some cool things right now that will be in the next updates and I can't wait for them!! I am looking foward to the future of BeamNG.Drive and Devs you are putting in a lot of work and thanks for all of the help in the forums and for answering questions that the community has asked! You guys have done a fantastic job so far and have blown me away with this game!! Keep up the awesome work! 1,000,000/10
Amazing physics I've ever seen in a game! Love to just play around in maps using interactive props with vehicles. 10/10
@ BeamNG 0.8.3.1 To The Devs: You guys and gals kick ass! Thank you for updating BeamNG into a respective 21st century game. It is all there and the world is yours for the taking. The bugs I experienced are nothing compared to the potential your coding has. Who invented the option for "signature" feedback? I mean really, how awesome is that? Still, be prepared for an onslaught of penis drawn to you, I think it is just asking for it. You did a great job on the GUI. The graphics are crisp, the game play saweet, vehicle response and feedback amazing. I near pooped myself on a mountain chicane switchback segway loopy turn I created, it was that real to me. One thing I do think needs to be addressed is Steam access in that broadest of turns. Officially announce Steam updates, please. People hate surprises. Unannounced Steam Hotfixes are okay, however when I cannot get back to my own stable game, people freak. My initial response with Steam was, "noo! where did 0.3.8.0 go? stop updating! I can't get 0.3.8.0 back and my map is not finished!" The difficulty in map creation is multiplied by the Steam version, I so far cannot access the Editor(F11) anymore. In fact it looks that BeamNG has even dumped my editor settings into the Unknown Files folder. This is a problem because I have put much time into a map I was playing, and I cannot find how to work it anymore. Content creation and location of that content is a must. I still have not learned how to make a MOD Folder Zip properly either, I have to hack into main content folders. Sincerely, g0tsl33p14
