Which is better?

 

More than three quarters of the world drives on the right side of the road.
The rest drive on the wrong side.
Fucking Brits ruining everything.

In terms of number of vehicles. 60% are LHD, 40% are RHD. Many of the RHD countries had very very little to do with Britain, Japan for instance.



Although there are oddities like Burma where you drive on the right hand side of the road in a right hand drive car so the drivers side door is always by the pavement. I think there is another country that does correct side of the road in a wrong hand drive car.

Moving to the left side of a road when passing one another dates back to mediaeval periods, one reason sometimes falsely cited being that 2 people on foot would pass with the person travelling in the opposite direction being by the dominant hand ready for a good sword swing or hand shake.

 

I don't think it matters. It's just a matter of personal experience and preference. As long as the driver is on the inside of the road is what I feel matters most.

 

not always, for me i'd choose left, cause all the cool cars are made to drive on that side.

Then you should drive on the left so you can shift with your dominant hand.

Otherwise it makes no difference imo

 

If you drove on the left you'd shift with your left hand as a car on the left is right hand drive.
I also disagree, you'd want the dominant hand on the wheel.

 

True, and also gear changing with my right hand feels weird. Left hand is the natural hand for gear changes (I suppose that's just from driving RHD cars only throughout my life...)

 

Oh Burma, the only place I know of where you get off the bus into the middle of the road.

Also the F1 is the best seating arrangement in a car ever. Middle ftw

 

Middle is terrible, my arm is too far away from the centreline of the road for gesturing to other drivers that they are cunts

also I drive with both hands on the steering wheel... so why would you be concerned about not having your dominant hand on the wheel?

 

You try both hands on wheel while shifting gear.
