Anyway, was it a common thing, for Japanese cars at the time, to have one, or several facelifts ?

 

Its 3D art i.e. its the 3D model that is going into the game/already is in the game. The reason he is listed as the artist is likely because he did the 3D modeling for the car.

 

While the proportions of the Covet will be changed, I still think the teaser picture shows a widebody variant. Usually in a widebody, the turn signals are a bit caved in the wide fenders and there are the respective inserts in the fenders proving this. And notice the pronounced curves of the arches of the fenders when you see them from above! Definitely a widebody!

 

Hear me out... The I series as a hatchback, shortened like the 190e city concept
And with a quattro sport like variant + group b rally version.

 

THEYVE BROKEN THE SILENCE! Also that's a 100% redesigned covet (as we assumed), but it's really really pretty in comparison to the old one!

Also, for everyone saying it's a render, the visuals are a perfect 1:1 for in game graphics. PBR Textures, weird AO glow, it has to be beam.
Although, I must say I find it interesting that the headlights seem to be illuminating the bumper of the car- I can't remember that being a feature previously, so this must be a new capability from the graphics engine?

 

I thought that at first too but I'm pretty sure now that's just the lighting from the sides of the bumper under the lights being raised

 

The Bastion do have it at least for the fog lights

Your idea is crazy. It's really weird seeing a Sedan the size of an E28 5-Series (a Midsize/E-Segment Executive Sedan) being shrunken down into a Hatchback form. Not at all easy on the eye. An I-Series Wagon is millions of times more appropriate/suitable for this kind and size of car.

 

Would be a really interesting (and nice looking!) way of making a Quattro brand-friendly for BeamNG actually!

 

Yes. A clamshell-widebody, probably mid-engine, probably Group 4, definetly OP covet. This is awesome.

Can someone expain why we think this screenshot = facelift?
To me, it just looks like a new wide body configuration, the head lights look the same.
What am I missing?

 

The proportions are different, the lights have more detail, the light lens has more detail, the car is more rounded and not as boxy as the current bobet
Though, not a facelift, but who knows, we might get a blobby covet

 

Wouldn't be proportions just be explained by the wide body kit as that makes the car well, wider? Same goes for it being more rounded, the kit probably makes it more aerodynamic.
The fact that the lights has more details makes sense for a rework, not a face lift.

I definitely believe we are getting a rework, but I think we are all jumping to conclusions about a facelift a little too quick. Unless the actual lights are a different shape? But they don't seem to be.
