Am I the only one around here that isn't a big fan of utes?

I'm with you on that but each to their own. Cars I find pretty won't necessarily be agreed upon by everyone else here.
Yes. Yes you are. Where utes are concerned "each to their own" is no longer applicable, utes are cool end of.

They just don't do much for me.
I would say they're trying to be something that they're not, but they aren't.

Im not a fan of them but they do a job and they do it well. So while i am not a fan i acknowledge that for some people they will be awesome.

What's their job? To look pretty?
I don't think I've ever seen one doing decent work besides for a photo shoot.
I'm not saying there's a problem with that. They're made to look pretty. They obviously aren't made to do any actual work.

They probably are made to do actual work, but how many people actually use them for that is a different matter.

I could say the exact same thing about a pickup truck, most people who own one wont ever use its specialist functions.

Yes, but pickup trucks are put to the use the were made for much more often than utes.
I could understand why people think they are cool, and I have no problem with people buying them because they look cool.

I don't really like Utes either.
They look a bit odd, I just prefer the streamlined shape of a sedan/coupe or the pure boxyness of a pickup truck.

TBH, the only utes i would actually consider owning are the only 2 that are made by american manufactuers (Ford's ranchero, and chevy's el camino)

although if i ever happen to go Australia i would gladly rent a ute :p

Am i the only one madly in love with the new Acura TLX? I absolutely love this car. Looks absolutely gorgeous. Luxury, quality, performance, and style all packed in one package! Only things i wish it had is a 6mt. Though the DCT 8 speed in the base 2.4 is freaking awesome. Don't really care for the non honda tranny in the 9 speed v6 car. ZF or something manufactured. Besides the point. I think its just a beautiful car i plan to own one day. Probably when my civic is paid off.

I agree; it's a very nice design. I also like the new ILX and RDX. I don't like the new Acura interiors though; they just don't look or feel luxurious at all.

These are used just the same way as pickup trucks are in the usa, they aren't just for looks and speed. They are work horses too.

NOTHING beats the sound of that ENGINE...well...maybe one thing...

    Merlin.jpg

And the engine of this 19 foot long car...

    Merlin engine.jpg

thats right a 27.04L (1650.08 cu in) V12 straight out of a Supermarine Spitfire...its been desupercharged which is a right shame...it produces (I BELIEVE) 850bhp but the supercharged version at 3000 feet was something around 1700bhp with the supercharger on...now this engine sounds Monstrous...

Nothing beats a low revving V12 Aero Engine!
