Bastion shifting poorly

Why does the Bastion shift so weirdly? It shifts similar to a single clutch transmission. Especially compared to the ETK 800 series

Drive the Wentward DT40L, use 75% throttle while accelerating, it's even worse.

 

The 8 speed in the charger is great.

Try the old pessima at 85 percent throttle. Beam really needs a transmision overhall. The Legran is even worse

 

All down to the Torque Converter. Most cars use a locking torque converter which suck with low and high throttle inputs. I believe the only ones that provide a good driving experience would be the Legran, Wendover, and all Gavril cars and trucks using the "Torque Converter" and "High Stall Torque Converter". There is a mod to remedy those weird shifting problems.

yeah ive used that mod for like a year. bastion still shifts weird in sport mode.

"Sport" mode for a car or truck would usually mean that the transmission shifts a lot quicker and doesn't upshift when given low throttle. I drove it in sport mode for a video, and it seems to work well. Head to the timestamp 5:08 in the video. I do agree with your statement though. If someone were to not install mods and enjoy the game in it's vanilla state, then the transmissions would need an overhaul.

 

You can copy part of the code from the ETK's 8AT transmission and replace the code on the Bastion's (that's what I did and it shifts amazingly now).
